It's been a run the last few weeks with papers and such, so Friday the wife and I played hooky from work and went on a date. We saw MI3 (not too bad, not too good), and on the way home we stopped into a local smoke shop. I mentioned how much I liked the CAO Sopranos cigar boxes and the wife INSISTED that I get one. What really helped was the fact that the guy was running them at almost half price, so I got 20 associates AND the cool box, which my wife is now using as a very cool jewelry box. Sticks are aging, and life is good.

I love my wife!

Awesome! You're a lucky man, D, although I'm sure you know that already. I'm don't know if my wife would INSIST that I buy a certain cigar, but she has been an absolute saint in the way she has accepted and tolerated my newest "hobby." She hasn't even complained about the $$ I've been spending on cigars, humidor, accessories, etc.

Each time another package arrives at the door she just smiles and shakes her head. The ONLY rule she as put down is no smoking in the house, and I have no problem with that one. (Although, I don't know what I'll do when winter rolls around).

Do what I do- set up a propane heater and a recliner in the garage. Get yourself a good book, and life couldn't improve much!

I carpeted the garage put in a/c unit for summer and a propane heater for winter. Ran the satellite dish and put in a 3in tv in there also. I have our old couch and lazy boy chair out there for comfort. Also a refridge. It is almost more comfortable than inside.

I already have a gas heater hooked up. I'll spend some time this summer fixing up a smoking area. Maybe get a wireless router and take my laptop out there, too.

Good ida there brother, just make sure the laptop doesn't get to cold. I just go out to my garden shed to smoke in winter, no heater, just lots of clothing, and blankets to keep warm. I keep looking at the propane heaters, but just don't think I can justify one just for the smoking shed.

I doo however have a Coleman lantern for light so I can read!!

I got lucky. In the my house that I just bought, there is a 4th bedroom in the basement. So it's my wife's "craft" room and my winter smoking room.

Last summer my in laws came into town and father in law and I spent three days building a deck (he's a carpenter, so it went easy). It's my new smoking area and with my laptop and the access point in the office, I can sit outside and surf, work, smoke, whatever.

My wife (in September) is the coolest.
…except for the cigar thing. We share tons of interests (cooking, backpacking, reading, home improvement, too many to list), but cigars are one thing that we do not share. She HATES that I enjoy cigars. She hates it even more that I enjoy them with her father. I have a lot of rules about cigars in my house. I can’t smoke in the house. I can’t smell like cigar when she gets home. I can’t talk about cigars with her, around her or to my friends while she is in the room. I can’t smoke when she is home. I can’t have my humidor I any room but my office. I can’t leave ashtrays out on the porch (even if they are clean and empty). The list goes on.

Basically, she does not even want to acknowledge that cigars exist, let alone that I smoke them.
Besides the cigar thing she is everything I ever wanted. And in a way I guess its good she is anti cigar. This keeps the size of my collection in check.

Not totaly true,,, just the part of the collection that she knows about.... :hearseespeak:

lol

Yeah Kuzi, just put in a hollow wall or something. You can have a "secret stash".....

Secret stash...hahaha

I am pretty lucky, my g/f will call me from the nightclub or bar if they have a humidor and ask me what I would like her to grab up for me.
She doesn't know it yet but her wedding ring is going to be the band from a God of Fire

Avgeek, that was a nice score, now how about sending Capo Cloudy a little tribute?

I have 50 cigars arriving later today. I’m off of work today so I can get them in my box before the woman gets home. 25 of them are going to her father and getting his half to him is going to be a difficult task.

LOL. I'm single now. I must admit I don't miss sneaking around with new cigars out of fear of being chewed out.

Does she have any vices? My wife loves shoes, so we have an agreement, I can get cigars and she can get shoes. Just gotta make sure she doesn't catch on to the part where my cigars cost more that the average pair of shoes. :duh:

she does not have any vices that I can use against her.
... cant win em all

You guys have good and understanding wives.

My wife, on the other hand, is opposed to cigars and almost everything else I do. Now she hates me golfing (I've only been learning how to golf for 2 months now).

Seems to be ok for her to buy a pair of shoes/dress/purse of $200+, but if I even spend $1 on a cigar or a golf ball, I'm dead. /rant

(sorry for the above rant. Having a really bad day after last night.)

Time to grab your manhood back out of her purse and tell her you're gonna go golfing and smoke cigars tomorrow. Then tell her that you will take her out to diner when you get back. You'll be good from there. Of course if you are going out to diner she will need a new blouse and shoes.
