Hi, I am Craig from Valparaiso, IN

I have always wanted to smoke cigars but never knew anything about them till i started searchin online and found this great web site. I have read so many past threads and have learned so much. I had got a travel humidor and it came with 5 cigars with a 90 or plus rating that was oeder on this web site. So far so good but defenatly looking for a permanent humidor. Sorry about my spelling I am horable at it but working on it daily. :)

Welcome to the Forum Craig! There are plenty of folks here that can help in all areas of this great hobby!

Welcome, Craig! I'd hold off on getting a humidor until you know how obsessed you are with cigars.

You can use a tupperware container until you decide on what size humi to get (check levels weekly.)

If I were you I'd get a humidor that's waaaaaay bigger than you think you'll need. And a digital hydrometer is the only way to go.

Good luck!

Welcome to the board. This is a great place to pick up great info on the hobby!!

Thanks everybody. You are all some interesting pople. Well my walet wont let we own many cigars yet so a some what small humidor that holds 300 and buying the humi off ebay for cheep is ok to me. Tahnks for the advise. What is a cigar that taste as good as cohiba but not so expensive? Thanks again

Welcome Craig, my advice for you would be to look at Ebay but keep in mind that a fairly good sized humidor can be had for prety darn cheap brand new from a place such as tampahumidor or bargainhumidor, just do a google search and these two plus a few more will pop up, this is somebody here (can't remember who) that had a few problems buying used humidors from Ebay so keep that in mind.

Far as something similar to a Cohiba, I tend to prefer the Fuente Sungrown's to anything from Cohiba that I have ever tasted, those and any Rocky Patel, Cuesta-Rey and La Gloria Cubana product.

Brenda mentioned a digital hygrometer, that my friend is some pretty sound advice. That and buying way over the humi capacity you think you may need. Good luck to you and happy smoking.

Thanks cloudy for the advise. I am so excited to try all the sigestions you guys have been posting. I got to start working some over time to buy a few.

welcome from the Burgh, PITTSBURGH that is ! & dont believe much of what you see here , we are all full of BS !!! hahaha Enjoy, Vince

I lie cuban labels from Cigar.com. And for a humi if the wallet is a little tight get a cooler and some cat litter. Pm me and I can help you set it up
