I've just recently started with cigars. I've only tried a few and am looking for some good recommendations from someone who knows a bit more than I do. . . ignorance can be cured and I'm looking for a cure
Heres what I've tried and what I thought of them:
Joya De Nicaragua Antano:
Light taste, not an easy draw, burn wasn't very even (but was smoking in a high wind).
I wasn't particularly impressed.
Gran Habano Connecticut #1
Very light flavor. Began to fall apart during the last third. It appeared that the band was covering defects in the wrapper.
H. Upmann Petit Corona
So far this has been one of my favorites. I only have a few left so am saving them for special times. Wish I'd got more.
Montecristo #4
Smoked well, but not as flavorful as I expected. I only have a few of these left also and am saving/aging them for special times.
Montecristo #3
This one was better than the #4. It was slightly stronger and more flavorful. This one was not a habano.
Macanudo (ring 44, 6.5 length)
For a cheap cigar I liked it. Lighter than the Upmann, stronger than the Montecristo.
Tatuaje (Red band w/ florentines)
I don't know where this cigar came from. Was hard to get lit, but burned well up to the end. Good taste.
Bolivar
Very mild at first, but got rapidly stronger and more flavorful. Was pretty good.
Macanudo Court tubo
These are small and cheap. But they are good for a quick smoke.
San Cristobal (might have been the Gaujiro)
This had a very dark wrapper. It was one of the best cigars I've had. I really enjoyed this one. I smoked it while trying to study and I kept ignoring my homework and enjoying the cigar.
This sums up what I've had to date. Any suggestions on what I should try next. I look at the cigar shop's humi and don't know where to start. I picked up a few the girl recommended when I bought a humidor. That's where all but the Montecristo #4 and the H. Upmann Petit Coronas came from.
I only smoke a few sticks a week at most. I just don't have the time to enjoy one properly that often (Family, work, school, and life in general just seem to keep interfering with the thing's I'd like to do). If your suggestion is on the pricey side, please give a ballpark figure on what it should cost.
Thanks in advance
