Question:

1: If you just lit up one of those '$100' cigars.. and you had some... say... 'emergency etc etc' and had to put it out...

Whats the best way to put it out and still be able to come back at a later time and resume the enjoyment.

Define "emergency". If I lit up my only Opus X "A", believe me, I would hire someone to keep it lit!!!

Depends on how many puffs you took. Generally, one should not relight a cigar after a maximum "out" time of about an hour to an hour and a half. If it hasn't been "ruined" by too much smoke traveling through it, there are these fancy plastic tubes called by the brand name Cigar Savor that were created for this situation.

If you have to -

Blow any smoke in the cigar out!
Some people cut the end off, I do if I am on the go.
I'll leave a cigar in the ashtray of the car after blowing the smoke out of it.
When I get back & if it's gone out :? either cut it below the ash or scrape any ash/burnt away.

If your not sure you got the time, don't light expensive cigars!

personaly i cant stand to smoke anything thats been out for more than a few min.

I agree with CC. The key is blow out first then I usually let the cigar stop burning on its own. Then when I come back to it, I will knock any ash of the end. Blow through it two more time. Then I will relight the sucker. Use a torch when relighting. You will need it to cut through any ash. If you dont have one then you will need to cut the foot off and relight.
