I just got a new Remote Hygro from OS. I did the salt test and it was 74.1%. When I transfer it to my Humi it read 60-61% were my CO was set at 65. Can they be that far off? I feel my Cigars smoke fine but feel a bit dry and I would like to bring it up around 65%. What do you guys think?

Yes the CO-s can be off that much & more!
The new models had this problem -
I'd contact CO & see if they will send you a new one -
you may get an extra for free :D

A similar problem occurred in mu humi...my CO is set for 70% ...yesterday i popped into my humi and the 2 extra hygrometers were reading 84%!!!! i clicked the CO and that indeed was reading 84%...i pulled out the CO for a bit and let the humi air out, once the humidity reached 67 i plugged the CO back in and closed up the humi...a half hour lateri take another look at its back up to 84%!!...i checked the CO and its still setfor 70%...could the sensor be shot in it?

I've never had a problem with it before...infact its amazing...all my ISOM have visual plume as well as the majority of my cigars in the bottom shelf

mines off too, but in a bit different way, i have it set at 70%, but it reads that it is about 70.5%, and my digi hygro which i know reads low by 2% shows 66% so really about 68% in the humi

I am going to re salt test the hygro, but I moved my oassis up to 71% to bring my RH to 63% That is perfect for me.

So I called CO and told them wht the problem I was having was. i talked to a very nice lady and she told me that it did not make any sense. And she was going to put a new top in UPS today, and I could return myine free of charge. That is what I call customer service.

hey my oasis was significantly off...it was set for 70, but the humidity in the humidor was 83!!! it always kept my humi at 70 till recently...and i have no clue what happened. Since then I have turned down the oasis to 66 and my humidity was 74. So finally i unplugged the CO this morning. Some of my sticks feel soft, especially some of my ISOM on the top shelf...Right now the humidor is open airing out....any recommendations on any extra steps i should be taking?

Surprisingly when i came back from work my humidor was at a 69% humidity level even with the CO unplugged...im assuming a lot of the cigars retained some extra humidity and that is what is aiding in keeping the humidity level high, so i need to let them dry out a bit...am i right in that assumption, or is there something else i should be doing?

Well, it might be that the humidity's high there and it's not helping things. You know, it's pretty dry here in Charleston...I can dry them out for you.

But seriously though, if it's sitting at 69, I think you should be fine with 69%. I assume your hygrometer's calibrated. You could always put some extra cedar in there to absorb some of the humidity for a while, but I would think leaving it unplugged for a while, it should take care of itself. I few days with higher than normal humidity shouldn't harm the cigars at all.
