I'm heading off to Leeds, Yorkshire, UK on Monday for work. Hopefully I'll have some time to kill after work, if not I should at least have time for an evening smoke. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should smoke while I'm there?

Someone I know around here mentioned there's a "famous" tobacconist there, but couldn't remember the name. He's been there, but couldn't remember the name. Anyone have a guess?

The headquarters of Dunhill, among other places. I don't know nearly as much about our brothers and sisters in Merry Olde England as I'd like to, but I do know that they are some of the world's foremost experts on the storage, aging, and smoking of the cigars we love so much.

Oops. I forgot to mention, I'll only be there most of a week. I'm coming back next Saturday morning. In other words, I unfortunately won't really have the opportunity to go sightseeing. Based on my previous experiences in London, most of the "Tourist" type stuff closes around 5pm, and shops not related to eating & drinking not long thereafter.

I don't have any suggestions as to places to go but, I'd take my own hot sauce.

Have fun!

Have fun brother, and even if you do nothing else, at least have some fish and chips!!

If you can post from there, we'd love to hear how it is going!

(All right, one less customer in the PIF war! Yahoo!)

Just to warn you - everything here is massivly expensive - you'd be better off bringing the majority of cigars with you - I think you're allowed about 50 thru customs, good luck with Leeds city center at night !!!??

I've been poking around online a bit and that's pretty much what I've noticed. Needless to say I don't plan on bringing any cigars back. Well, unless there's a duty-free shop in the Manchester airport with a humidor and good prices on one or more of my favorite non-Cuban brands. But... what's the chance of that? I suspect my duty free haul will consist of Scotch.
I have to admit I am curious as to what the duty rate is on cigars brought into the UK, as even at 100% it would be cheaper to just pay the tax on a lot of brands.
