I am getting a small humidor to keep at my fiance's place. She lives about an hour away and I am tired of having to pick a couple sticks in advance of the weekend and pack them. Anyone have any experience with this one:

I was also considering this one:

The diffeference in price is pretty much made up for by the fact that there is no digital hygrometer with this one, but I can pick one up for about $15.

I am pretty sure I am going to get one of the two. Anyone who has either one, or just an opinion, I would appreciate input. Thanks :D

GET a BIG @$$ Full size humi , dont waist time or money with a small travel Humi, GO BIG , GO BIGGER , GO Biggest you can , sooner or later you will fill it , nothing worse than getting a great dael on a few sticks or a box & no place to put them, , & since you are an hour away, Make sure it has a LOCK ON IT , hey the Knights put chasty belts on there ladys , when they went off to war, well times have changed, BUT get a lock for the Humi hahahahaha !

you asked for opinions & opinions are like @$$ holes , Every one has one !

Enjoy, Vince

Vince, remeber this is his finace's place; we don't want to make her the ex. I like your thinking though.

Bigcat; how does she feel about coolers?

Haha given the size of her place, I'm not sure where I'd put it. Plus, she is remarkably tolerant of my little hobby. I don't want to ruin it before I seal the deal.

And Vince, I've got a bigger one at home that serves me pretty well. Again, I wish I had gotten a bigger one (its only a 120 ct), but it forces me to buy selectively, which is a good thing while I finish up school. As for the lock/chastity belt, I don't know what to say besides I like how you think :D That was good for a laugh to start the day.

I thought a 100 count would be OK about 40 years ago , now I have 9 desk tops , a coolador for long term storage & aging & a walk in at the shop ,& I still dont have enough room ! hahahaha, God help my wife if we ever hit the lottery hahahaha, the new house will be a Humidor hahahaha , as far as the chasty belt,
forget that, but LOCK the CIGARS hahahaha

Vince- You might be the coolest guy on here. Your Sunday Morning Smoke topic is the best reason to read the forum and is inspiration for me to get aged and enjoy life. Life on the Qtr. Deck sounds pretty good, getting into the "Cubador" with the AC on and a big pot of coffee... you have it made my friend.

Cheers,

Smoke

they say with age comes wisdom, but I am just a kid, & the difference between a man & a boy is the price of his toys, so I have a few expencive toys to play with , Cigars, lighters, cutters Humidors , & stuff to furnish the Qtr.Deck, not to mention my grandsons come here to play , but not with the cigars YET !
If you ever get to Da Burgh , Be sure to stop for a single malt & a smoke , Hey thats a great idea , Maybe I will have a little sip & a puff NOW ! Enjoy, Vince

I have a cabinet, a foot locker, two glass displays, and three desktops. My wife has been tolerant so far. Now, if I can talk her into a walk-in at the new house....

Tell her you can get rid of the cabinet, foot locker, glass displays, and desktops. Well, maybe keep one small one as a "ready rack"/on deck circle.
Someday I hope to have a walk-in. I'd also like a separately ventillated smoking room, wine cellar, server room (well, more like a closet... just one or two machines + a switch & DSL modem/router), shop (mostly for fixing stuff & occasional woodworking), pottery studio, and a gas-fired kiln in the back yard.
As far as the original question goes, I'd look for something that goes with her existing decor. If her place is full of typical Ikea stuff, get something with a light finish. If she's mostly got oak furniture like I do, get oak. If it's a random jumble, maybe gloss black or something like that. She'll find it less annoying if it looks nice in her place.

You can never be big enough. Last year at this time I had two desk tops. Now I have a HUGE built-in holding over 45 boxes, and once again I am out of room.
