Dad just walked in from work, and hands me two cigars:

A.F. Hemingway Work of Art Maduro
Perdomo Edicion De Silvio not sure what size. Its tiny though, looks like a 4.75 x 48 maybe?

Well, just got finished smoking the Perdomo. Dad smoked the Work of Art Maduro(he loved it, his first cigar since like their wedding back in '82)

The Perdomo was fabulous. I checked out different places to see if I could match up the ring and length, and found its a 4.7 x 46 Keeney Cameroon. Definatly worth the 14 paid for it. I want more!
When I clipped the cap though, the wrapper from top of the band on up came off. Was an extremely thin wrapper, so I think that had something to do with it. I was very impressed with the cigar, and recommend to any of you who have not smoked these to give it a try.....think C18, but like 3 times better. More flavor, just as smooth, and was great. I normally dont care for smaller ring cigars, but it was awesome! Nice, toasty finish, precursed by a very smooth, flavorful smoke. Notes of vanilla that complimented the ole trusty Maxwell House french well. Burned even all the way through, almost white ash. First cigar that I havent had tunneling problems with as well. Stinky cigar though, up there with the Diploma. Ash didnt like to stay on for too long, but its thin, what can you expect?

Dad smoked the Work of Art Maduro. Seems to be a pretty exclusive and rare cigar from what the dude at the shop told him(I wasnt with him, this was a suprise). Ash was your typical Hemingway ash, and firm as hell, fell off about 1/2in short of the band. I took a few draws of it towards the end of it, which is a bad idea, seemed to be really toasty. Had an uneven burn until it got past the ball at the foot, and then evened out very nicely. Had a nice aroma.

Plumes of smoke filled up the garage as we smoke, laughed, drank coffee, and watched TV in warm confines(garage is heated). Was an excellent experience. I havent talked to dad much in several years, as we disagree on so much. This helped interesting conversation between us as he was just asking lots of questions about everything cigar. He said he may take up smoking a couple a week, which is awesome. Help us talk and not fight about stuff. This is good in another fact that my dad only buys the best of anything(snap on tools, klipsch home stereo stuff, etc...), and now adding to the list, cigars that I cant afford, but he can

Yay!

Speaking of the Perdomo, isn't that what you said you got me for the Thanksgiving pass? (still waiting patiently)

Yes, that is correct. You have the Edicion De Silvio Torpedo x2 waiting till the Christmas pass :)

Syntax: AWESOME stuff with your dad. I have a dream of smoking stix with my father as well. (Although, thankfully, my father and I get along great.)

BTW, I have decided that I should be your new best friend and come over to your dad's house with you for visits!

Syntax,
Nice review of the smokes, and a great story. Cherish those times that you do get to spend with your dad.

Yup. I was telling him about The Opus last night. I do believe he will come home with a pair of them tonight to smoke. Lol
