Question for discussion?

While working today, a thought flashed through my aging mind.
-Is there a large difference between smoking flavored cigars, and smoking while drinking a flavored beverage?

I'm not posing the question just to post my own preconceived answer. I have read many posts here where members discuss the beverages they enjoy while smoking (alcoholic, special blend coffee, root beer, tea, etc); I myself seem to enjoy cigars more when I am also drinking coffee or Dr. Pepper. I do not smoke flavored cigars.

But am I just fooling myself with "smoke semantics"? Aren't the two experiences very similar?

It has been a looooooooong time since I smoked a flavored cigars.
but!
Food can effect the taste of a cigar as can drink.

When I take cigar notes on space if for food and drink.
I find food/drink to either add to the smoking experience or
create an off taste in the smoke.
With flavored cigars - well kids could read this :?
Lets just say my dogs leave  - never mind.

Now taste is subjective and hey if you smoke what you like
the more power to you.
I like a flavor of cigar - tobacco flavor

I definatley see a differece. I feel like food or beverage compliments a cigar while flavored cigars have altered the taste of the tobacco.

I like subtle infusion in a cigar if anything at all. CAO and Acid are a little to much in your face if you know what I mean.

However, Gurkha Gran Reserve with the Luis the XIII is great. It does not taste like Luis except a little bit on the finish. Really it was a great smoke. One of the only flavored cigars I like.

I did have a Blackout by Natural by drew estate. It was not flavored and was all natural tobacco. But it had an interesting aroma. I heard they were hard to find. Most shops have not had them in stock for over 2 years.

See, now I felt like I was smoking a glass of Louis the XIII! But that just must be the difference of palate I guess...

I enjoy my cigars to taste like tobacco....but with that said, I would think that with anything else, there would be the right combo of food/drink to match a flavored cigar...just with anything else...

If you were going to smoke a Kahulua flavored cigar, a Kahlua drink would seem a little overbearing....kinda like smoking a full in your face well rounded cigar wouldn't seem suitable after a light fish meal on a hot summer day...but that's just my .02....pairing the right things with cigars can really highten the experience in my mind...but with anything else, i think it's important to see what you like, based off your own opinion, or the suggestions of others...
