Armpit of the world....Al Asad, Iraq
Please take the time today and recognize all that have paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep us all free.

Happy Memorial Day!

Semper Fidelis.

Speaking of remembrance, I've been thinking about you a lot. I hope you, and all our brethren, sisters as well, who serve our nation are well on this today. To those who have served and are no longer with us, and those who have served, still with us but scarred, all American service personnel, I give you a big salute. You are indeed remembered, and highly valued. We are the only nation left standing between some semblance of freedom and worldwide horror and slavery, because of your efforts. God bless you all.

I was away form the boards the last few days, and just got to read this. I had a silent moment for all that gave to this wonderful country of ours. DD, I hope all is well with you. What is your status?

It's great to hear from you!

Status is....
Still stationed in Hawaii. Returned from deployment in Feb with no plans of going again any time soon! I'm submitting for MCESG (Marine Corps Embassy Security Group). If accepted, I would be in charge of all military personnel working at my assigned embassy. Nice! There are over 140 embassies around the world so it'll be difficult to choose where I want to go! (Maybe the embassy in Havana?...LOL)
I'd probably choose Paris or Egypt as my first station then the Bahamas or Costa Rica for my second.

How are you doing?

DD, all is well here! Same ole same ole, just working and smoking when I get the chance. Keep in touch, don't be a stranger!

Good to hear all is well, Colonel!!! It is Colonel these days, right? At any rate, I'm not surprised that you're not all that enthused about going back to the war zone(s). You put in enough time there anyway, haven't you? Interesting first and second choices of embassy locations there, quite diverse and interesting, all of them. Costa Rica is an increasingly popular location with Americans, for vacations and to relocate to. They also have some of the world's best coffee and fruit there. Keep checking in. Always interested to hear of your adventures. Semper Fi!!!
