It's around again. Local place just got some in. $125 for 750ml of this blow your brains out high octane beer. At 25.6% ABV, it's potent. Brewed with maple syrup of all things! It's not carbonated, and served at room temp. Very good stuuf, give it a shot.

Wow, that sounds interesting. I would like to try it, but I dont know where I could get something like that around here. There is a big liquor store downtown that might have it, I will have to go there and check. I dont like Sam Adams' laager, but I like their ale (those being the only two I have tried). I heard some years ago that their triplebock is great, but I never have seen any to try.

Mark, they have some decent offerings. Maybe I'm partial, seeing as the brewery is just a few minutes down the road.

If there any 'must trys' let me know. I'm sure I can get them to you.

Thanks for putting this up, Colonel. I have a lingering curiosity about the Sam Adams "odd" brews, and it was good to get your feedback. I must say however, that the next time I spend $125 on 750 ml of anything, it's likely to be bourbon. :sm_angel:

As painful as it is to agree with Bloofington  I feel that i must. I purchased a bottle of the special Bock last year. I t was not as expensive as this ofering is. It was a excellant brew BUT not worth the extra monies. I cannot imagine any bottle of beer being worth $175.00.
However I have enjoyed thier SA Lite all summer long, when I could find it. I have a half case of the Octoberfest (I did when I left on this adventure) in the beer frig and enjoy it very much.

As the infamous Bloofington said "If I was going to spend 175.00 on 750 ml of anything, its likely to be Bourbon"
