I started out by lighting a Perdomo Estate Prestigio. It was great I enjoyed the flavor and it got better half way through.

A couple of weeks ago I forged the rough shape of a knife out of a railroad spike. I based it on a Scramasax design.

This weekend I shaped it. I still need to do some more shaping, clean up the handle, use finer belts, and polish it.

:eek:mg:

I've seen the knife you're talking about, probably in the catalog I get from Russell. You're doing some fantastic work there. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I am Very Impressed,
I'd Love a knife like that- just amazing!
Even rough the idea is beautiful.
I could see it in a Gem incrusted scabbard.

Thank you gentlmen. I have done other metal work, but this is my first knife. I made this out of one of my low carbon steel spikes, so this is more practice then a knife that would keep a sharp edge. Even the High carbon steel spike are just barely aceptable in my mind.

Here is a link to a gentleman that I was able to meet in July at the ABANA confrence.

Beautiful work! Very nice contrast between the rough and finished.

Can't wait to see the finished product! If you ever think about making these to order, let me know - I'd be interested depending on the price

Once I get my mad skills :D down it will be under $100. The thing is the steel in even the high Carbon RR spikes is not that great for keeping an edge on a knife. I am going to play with cable damascus and then making billets for regular damascus. Anyway we can talk down the road.

Cheers
