smoking limit Q

I was enjoying a smoke last night and started wondering what the avg. length most smokers lay there sticks down and call it fini'.
I personally use aprox. 11/2-2 inchs on everyday smokes,and will draw to1- 13/4 inch on special high $$ end sticks.
Iknow its a matter of taste and cigar build, but I find I leave the cigar with a better experience if I dont go past 2" on avg.
But I have had some sticks that I got most of the flavor and aroma from later halfe of the smoke.

What say yall?

I say use a tooth-pick so you don't burn youe fingers!

Usually I smoke them right down to where I can't hold them any more!
If they are good that is :shock:

A few weeks back at a friends B'day party,
I turn around and my wife has the end of her cigar stuck on a fork.
It was a very good cigar that is impossible to find any more.
She wanted every last bit of the goodness!

Depends on the cigar and the moment but in general ...till I can't hold em any longer

Maybe I got fat fingers. But this is 1 inch> __________< anything less than that is harsh to me.

1 1/2" > _______________<

Am I missing some good smoke here or what?

i was the bbq master at a party the other night at a freinds engagement party. i was smoking a cao gold that i liked so much i would have stuck it in a pipe and smoked it to all ash if i had a pipe with me. it got too small to smoke any more cause it was burning my lips a little so i layed it to rest in the bbq next to the burgers, it was a sad sight lol.

For me it depends on the cigar. If it is just an ok cigar down to an 1" 1½" if it is good down till I can't hold it any more. If it is a bad cigar I will smoke it half way down to make sure it does not get better part way through.

Winston Churchill was quoted as saying that the second half of event he best cigar was no better than a drug store cigar. Half is a little much but I rarely smoke the last 1/3

surely you are mistaken. the avg length Cigar I enjoy is 5.50 to 7.25. that would be an avg of over 2 inchs not smoked :shock: at your 1/3 rule. I cant bear to do that ,or afford to. maybe you meant 3/4".

Nope I meant a 1/3 and I am sure of the Churchill comment. It is rumored he smoked 250000 sticks in his lifetime but that figure should be half since he onlyed smoked half his cigars. One reason I only smoke 2/3 is becuase I admitadly smoke them to fast making the last 1/3 bitter

I usually nub my cigars unless they start to get wet from the drool of my salivating mouth!! Or if one turns bitter I can't take it any further!! Especially if I'm rating a cigar or smoking one for the first time, I usually burn through the whole thing to give it a fair chance.
