What is everyone smoking this weekend. I am planning on plowing through a few diplomas and a diamond crown natural. However, one of my favorite shows of all time is coming back to fox, "family guy" new season premiere this sunday. I have an opus X Double Corona set aside for the occassion.

I'll be watching Family Guy also, don't know why they ever cancelled it. However I will wait till after the show to smoke otherwise I know it will end up on the floor due to the convulsions I'm bound to have from all the laughing :D This weekend I have the Diploma from the box pass to try (can't wait to find out what you guys are all raving about), Graycliff Espresso PG, PAM Torpedo, DC Maximus, and 1 or 2 LGC Serie R's. We had storms for the past 4 days and this weekend looks to be a good one, so I'm gonna get in all the outdoor smoking I can.

will lite a stick on Sunday most likely.

I've got a La Unica belicoso #3 I'm curious about...not sure yet... :?

Wow, Mac and Axe have quite a lineup!
Here is my lineup, probably in this order:
Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion Consul
Camacho SLR Rothschild
Reserva Maxima Toro Maduro
I have never had any of these. Anybody try any of these?

I've caught a few episodes of family guy over here in the UK! They also started playing some episodes out in Iraq - great for passing the time!!

As for cigars this weekend...hmmm...

I'll plough thru the usual..Montecristo #3's some C10's...

Saturday, I've an opus X lined up, good afternoon of sport on tv after training in the morning! In the evening I'm planning on smoking a Montecristo #2 torp and an Arturo Fuente spanish lonsdale cameroon. Haven't tried the latter two, what do you guys think??

I'm playing golf on sunday and so have 2 diplomas to take with me, and also a RyJ Churchill for after the dinner. I've also bought a huge CAO Brazilia Anaconda so if the time is right I might let that go up in smoke. Anyone tried the CAO??

Enjoy your cigars...

i bought the first two volumes of the family guy on dvd. i have a feeling the show is going to suck now they are bringing it back. i think the network will have more control over them and not allow the controversial content the show had. i might be wrong, it could be better than before.

As long as they don't pull that editing crap the way TBS does, it should be alright. That is of course unless the Fox network channel acts like the Fox news channel and does everything to please georgie. :drunk: ...anyway to stay on topic, I think I'll try a Don Carlos Double Robuston as well this weekend.

Ando,

I'm a big fan of CAO brazilias. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the anaconda. My favorite size is the amazon. But, I've had the anaconda, and I enjoyed it. I'm a new poster and a fan of your posts. I appreciate everything you guys are doing for the U.S. Enjoy the CAO. I believe CAO is an up and coming cigar brand that will dominate the ratings.

to set all your fears aside, the first episode has been leaked onto the internet for a while. everyone i have talked to has said its amazing. i cant wait.
as for cigar plans, i think ill hit the local shop in search of the coveted diploma...not holdin out much hope, but ill try.
have fun all

 i drank way to much last night. From what I can tell by the cigar bands in my wallet, I smoked an edicion de silvio, 2 diplomas, and a padron anniversary. I remember the padron. It was very nice. Cant speak for the others.

If I had a dollar for eveytime that happens to me...I'd just go buy more cigars

I'm an old timer and have lived the life and continue to do so. If I over indulge, I have another one first thing in the morning. Usually a very cold beer. It may take two. Settles me down and I can handle the day. This only applies to weekends. Can't do this during the work week.
As to cigars, I have smoked and do enjoy an occasional CAO. But I disagree as to who is best prepared for the future. There are only two firms that I think kick ass- Today & Tomorrow.
PADRON & OLIVA.
Just my opinion.

I just finished my first Diploma and I think I may be sold on this one. From pre-smoke to final puff this one was a great experience. Some of my guests this evening even commented on the wonderful aroma. It burned great, produced lots of thick smoke and had a nice finish. I may have to buy a box of these sticks soon before 'smoka and Macallan get their paws on every last one of 'em!

axe,

when you say things like that it reminds me that there is only a limited supply  i dont know what i will do when they run out or change the blend on the diploma.

Is there a difference in the blend between the banded and un-banded versions of the Diploma?

i have not come accross any unbanded diplomas. most come with a very simple brown band that just says diploma. However, you might come accross some that have a pinkish orange hugh to them which are of the original blend and there are still some floating around out there. They are not as strong of flavorful, perhaps becuase of the blend or age I am not certain. Mostly you can find them in the camacho corojo ltd display that is a large diploma looking box with three compartments, each compartment holding a box worth of each size (diploma, 11/18, and 7/05) That is where I found mine. I bought the box becuase I dont like how the regualr diploma box only holds 18 sticks and if you smoke them like I do you need more. I gutted and modified the display box so it can only hold diplomas and now I can get 4 boxes in there at a time. I will take a picture when i get home and post it tomorrow from work. Back to the original point though, I am not as big a fan of these older ones but I think I only have 7 left. I think smoka has some too.

What I am really excited about from this line are two things. The new liberty that is coming out in a few months. It is the same size as the diploma and is supposed to be just as strong and made with lots of corojo tobacco. 10% of the filler is also supposed to be preembargo cuban tobacco which is legit as the eioras are one of the only families with any left. They are down to their last bail. Very few of these will be made and it will sport a dark natural/ maduro wrapper.

The other new item from these guys is the rumor of a limited corojo ltd humidor that is supposed to have the same pyramid shape as the box. Not sure what cigars will come in them or if they will be special edition but I am going to fight tooth and nail for the first one off the line.
