Hey all, my ship is getting underway soon to help fight the war on drugs in South America and will be making a couple port stops in St. Maarten and Antigua and was wondering if by any chance anyone knows if there are any good cigar shops on those two islands?

Not certain. Try habanos.com to see if there are authorized dealers. If not I would stay away. There are a ton of fake ISOM's down there. Just a word of caution.

Cigar Emporium, Philipsburg Front Street, St. Maarten -- Cuban cigars and an excellent supply of Dominicans. (599) 542-2787. Authorized Habanos dealer.

Isn't there another LCH over on the "French" side, with much better eye candy ??? I believe it is one of the beach front hotels.

New web site to try habanoscarib.com. This is a listing by the distributor for the area.

BEWHARE of the Navy League and the famous bottomless Punch Bowl of St Maarten. Those old guys set up a bowl of Rumm Punch and they never let it less than half empty. I have seen many a sailor meet his demise at the side of that punch bowl. Make sure the "ward room" lets you know where it is.

I am back my friends. Two months of sailing the high seas of the carribean. I took everyone's advice and stopped at the shops that were recommended and had many fine cubans. St. Maarten was a rather nice island. Antigua on the other hand.... eh lets just say I don't wish to return there. Now that I'm back though, I don't have anything to smoke. Oh well. :(
