Well have done a little sporting clays and have had to borrow a gun everytime I went.
I own a nice Mossberg 12 gauge pump - which works great except when shooting 2 clays at the same time

Anywho - I threw a party for Misa's Gym friends this past weekend.
Some of the people from the gym I go shooting with.
Misa had one of the guys pick up a new 12 gauge for me.
It a over under made from Brazillian hardwood.
Stoeger (sp?) ER Amantino - anyone ever shot one?
Never heard of this maker before this wekend - but the gun is dead on!I've only put about 20 rounds through it - as soon as the rain stops I'll
be getting a little more time with it.
As hunting season is about to start I am kind of shying away from
using it to much.
I'd like to fill the freezer before I chase away every deer!

Just wondering how many of you have heard/fired this make?

I know I am posting about guns on the cigar board - but this is home for me!

I was smoking a monte DC El when she gave it to me!

Haven't had too much experience with shotguns. Well with different brands, but if that cigar was anything like the monte 2  you really know how to pick the cigars.

The Monte Robusto EL
& Monte DC EL are my all time favorites in the Monte line!

I would be hard pressed to find anything that goes together better than target shooting on a nice day with a few nice sticks to enjoy. The OU is nice looking, but, you have already answered the most important question when you said you could hit the clays. Enjoy!

I had to add that it looks like some very nice wood from looking at the buttstock.

Yes, I have a Stoeger. They make great shotguns...they have been around a long time. Very good quality for the price. The pic looks great. Congrats on the new addition, it should last several lifetimes! You'll have to pass it down to someone special someday.

CC, the Stoeger is a great entry level O/U. It has all of the features that higher end shotguns have, (such as single selective trigger and auto ejectors) at a great price. You can pick one up new for under 500.00.(if you are getting the Condor) Although they are great guns, the stocks tend to be too long for average sized individuals, and the actions can be VERY tight. But with continuous shooting, it should wear in nicely. Also, with an inexpensive gun, you dont have to worry about actually taking it into the field and using it. But most important is that it fits you. If you are hitting your targets, it doesnt matter how much you spend. I have seen guys at our club with 25,000.00 Perazzi's and not hit $hit. Good luck and enjoy the clays!! Ryan

P.S. I will have some pics of Macallan and I during our clays shoot in a couple weeks.

Check out the big brain on Bob!!!! College really does work!!!  Nice job Bob, it indeed is the limited edition! Mmmm...CC and his yummy smokes....How jealous I am.

Regards,
Paul

Right on the money there!
The actions is very tight - it feels like it will take a few years to really work it's self out - but like it will last a life time - or 3!

Handsome looking shotgun there CC, I've had a couple of side-by-sides but never an over and under. Sounds like it's doing the job for you, nuff said.
