So I went today to send out a PIF pkg. The USPS has discontinued those small 'video boxes' that we have grown to love for shipping cigars. THey have some just like them in there, but you have to pay $2.75 for them.

Soooooooo.......start hoarding the USPS free ones now. I will be hitting the one on the other side of town tonight. At one time you could order supplies for free through the USPS website. I may try that too.

Just a heads up

Yeah, I did order some online, but they are not be manufactured anymore (according to the office I went to) so once they are gone, that's it.

Thanks

Good tip, thanks! I just ordered a pack online.

I've been mostly recycling the boxes that I've received from other members here. So far that's worked well for me, in addtion to giving me that "save our resources" warm fuzzy....

Thats what i usually do too double d, but those "video" boxes are nice, im gonna have to go swipe them up...

ot: double d- pm'd ya back

I ordered I think 250 of them when I first heard of this a couple months ago.

I suppose I am behind on the fact. Dangit!

It's wierd that you can just get a bunch of free boxes shipped to you online like that. I ordered 25 of them.

Legally you can only use them for their intended purpose. I used a blacked out priority mail box once to mail something via global priority and was informed that I could't even do that according to their policy. I had to cover everything with Global Priority stickers.

FedEX does the same thing, but they actually got into a legal battle with a guy that used the packing materials to make furniture for his apartment.

That is something I would like to see!

USPS did the same to me.

As for the furniture stuff... I saw the pics of that. Very interesting too.

That has to be the funniest $hi* I have ever seen! How does one even think of something like that!?!?

Hey, when you're a poor college student eating nothing but Top Ramen noodles, you learn how to improvise.

And don't forget boards and cinder crete boxes for bookshelves, heh, heh, heh.

If anyone wouldn't mind sending some of those boxes up to me - empty of course, I sure could use them! I will trade the coupon for a free cigar from the latest Cigar Afficianado!
