Well, I now know what I'll be spending my tax rebate check on:

Gas for my truck :( .

Good way to stimulate the economy.

I think they are supposed to be issued around May.

Speaking of high medical bills: Austin spent nearly three weeks in ICU when he was born. The total bill came to $116,000. Thats right. I'll say it again, $116,000. Thank the Lord for health insurance! We only had to pay about $2,400.

D D D Damn DL...Thats a lot dough!
I am interested to see how much a "normal" delivery will run me.
I have heard anywhere from 2k-8k out of my pocket.

4 years ago when my son was born, we got a copy of the bill and it was just over $18k. That's with a c-section. Out of pocket was like $75 co-pay.

Piker. My son was a 29 week preemie, 2pounds, 1.8 oz, on oxygen for a year, spent 103 days in the neo-natal intensive care unit before he came home. I was told by hospital staff that the total final bill was over 1$ million. Cigna paid out. BTW, my son is a normal active 7 year old now, with no issues, not bad for a kid who wasn't supposed to live through the night.
Back on thread - I will be spending most of my political payoff, er, "economic stimulous", on bills.

rebate? HA!

my wife and i owe $500 more. i feel like ive been pick-pocketed

thank you Uncle Sam for being a bigger thief than i thought you were!!!

i hate it when the government takes money that i work hard for.

To many hought crossed my mind to make a comment less than rated x. So I will keep it to myself.

Well the news just said that the national average for gas is $3.55. I filled my Ford Ranger up last night and it cost $64. I can drive for almost 2 weeks on that so I'm not really complaining. What gets me is that about 30 seconds later, the news broadcaster announces that tax rebate checks will start going out on Monday. Good news for everyone! How the heck can they expect these checks to stimulate the ecomony (I have opinions about that) when gas is expected to go up to $4.00 a gallon within a couple of weeks. I'll tell you where those checks are going! To big oil! Thats where! But I'm sure that a majority of people will actually stimulate the economy by buying PS3's and flat screen HD TV's with their checks instead of paying off high interest debt or putting into savings for a rainy day. And we are gonna see some rainy days, my friends.

I know this: the environmentalist are a strong lobby in Washington. How expensive is gas going to get before people realize that we need to cut off the middle easterners and start drilling here? Connor sent me an interesting email about Dubai a few months ago. Want to see where YOUR money is going? Wikipedia Dubai and you shall see.

Sorry about my soapboxing this morning. I needed a shoulder to cry on.

I already spent 1000 of the total 2100 I will be getting. I bought furniture for my family room downstairs and the bill will come in around then. My wife wants to get the kids a large wooden swingset with the rest; I am stilll trying to talk her into Rob's idea.

I GET NOTHING AND AM NOT EVEN A LITTLE HAPPY ABOUT IT. I THINK IT IS CRAP YOU WORK HARD TO PROVIDE A LIVING FOR YOUR FAMILY, AND YOU GET PUNISHED FOR IT!!!!!!!!

Dave, I'm not knocking anyone for spending money. If it were up to me, I'd spend ours on that 3000 count cabinet humidor that I've been wanting. My wife is starting to keep me on a short spending leash! I'm just saying that w/ the higher fuel and grocery costs, I think alot of people will need to spend the money for that. It's really a shame. Most of us can absorb these rising prices but I am sure that there are good honest working people in this country that are having to choose between going to the gas station or going to the grocery store.
