Temperature Issues

Hi again,

We've had a few warm days already in my neck of the woods and I find that the temperature in my condo has reached into the mid and even upper 70's during the day. I'm worried that with temps that high I might have to worry about tobacco beatles. Has anyone ever had these?
What do those of you in warmer climates do to deal with warmer temps? Do I need to run the air conditioner just to be on the safe side? Just how warm dare I let it get in the humidor?
Over the last couple of weeks I've accumulated quite a nice little bundle of smokes and have spent a nice little bundle too. I'd hate for anything (beatles) to ruin the fun I'm having!

Thanks for the replies!

If your at 70" already - your right to think about this.
I know many people use wine fridges as a cabinet humidor.
I'd do a little research hear (search function) I know there are 2 types
(maybe more) & one works well and the other don't

Here is a link to some info:http://www.habanocigarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5616&highlight=Wine+fridge

Personally I keep my cigars at 62% RH & 65"
you should not have to worry under 70" but be careful to not let the RH get to high.

WIne cooler is how I deal with it.

Not hard to setup not to expensive. Keeps my cigars nice and cool

another way is to place your humi in the basement... its usually cooler down there.

if that worries you because of mold then put it in a clooer.

my soultion? crank up the AC!!

I just keep my ac on. It keeps the temp in my humi between 71 and 73 at all times. Can't get much lower than that or the wife will kill me!

That's one thing I like about my coolerdor. It tends to keep slightly cooler than ambient temp.

Thanks for the ideas!

Eventually I can see myself getting a wine cooler, as it seems like the ultimate solution. Although from my initial research it seems a bit pricey. On the other hand it would probably pay for itself over time due to the cost of the electricity the air conditioner saps up.

Thanks for the link Castlecrest! Himidity shouldn't be a problem as I'm usuing the cigar oasis.
