Off topic but I am kind of a movie addict.

I am usually not a big fan of those foreign import martial arts films. The story line is usually awful, the acting completely second rate and the voiceovers can be annoying. But when I saw the previews for “The Protector” and saw it was brought by tarantino, I figured it was worth a shot. Here is the play by play:

First 30 minutes: “My God, do they have a rope in this theater somewhere because I want to hang myself. I saw better acting at my 4 year old nephews school play”

Second Thirty Minutes: “Wow some decent martial arts and fight scenes but nothing amazing and definitely still cheesy. This is no better than a Jackie Chan or Jet Li film.

Third Thirty Minutes: “Okay this is in fact one of the most amazing martial arts films ever and I see why Tarantino did it. Kill Bill meets Kiss of the Dragon. The entire horribleness of the movie up to this point is worth it all. The best fight sequences in any movie ever! Rediculous”

Roeper gave it a "thumbs up". I loved Kill Bill. Sort of a movie you "have to get". The fight sequences were over-the-top unrealistic, but that's the point...

Oh, I am sooooooo going to see that. Tony Jaa is the Sh*t. Absolutely amazing. Have you seen Ong Bak? he's in that too-- GREAT movie

Took the wife to see it... I thought the movie was incredibly amazing. But I am kinda a kung fu movie buff.
