Thor and I met up yesterday and Sullivans in Chicago where we have a cigar locker. We were sitting at the bar downstairs when who should plop down right next to us but Michael Jordan. We politely gave the bar tender 2 Opus X Reserva de Chateau and had them sent down to Michael and his party. Pretty sweet occurance.
I was trying to keep it casual and tactful. He leaned over and thanked us for the cigars. I told him that I heard they were some of his favorites and he said "they are, thank you very much". I would have gone for the camera phone picture or autograph, but I wanted to keep it cool.
I'm sure that he probably gets that A LOT and was expecting you to ask for something in return.
I guarantee that he was more grateful than you know and very impressed and thankful that you DIDN'T ask for anything and I'll bet that he talked about that with whomever he was with that evening.

I have this friend who is a total celebrity autograph WHORE! He would've been "Could you sign this napkin, this glass, my shirt, my hand? Can I have a picture?"..etc. etc. He has no shame!

i hate people that are all giddy around popular people. they're just people, just cause they are popular doesnt mean they are worth a damn.

Well, enjoy your cigars, folks, because the day is coming in the relatively near future, where in many areas of the country, you will be hard pressed to have permission to even smoke one in your own home.
When I cant smoke in my own home, I will leave the US and move to the DR...or Japan.
