Enjoying Life!
Knowing there alot of dog lovers in this forum, what are your thought on the michael Vickcase.

I feel if he is guilty, what a perfect time it would be for the justice system to let Major League Sporst figures know they are not above the law. He should get nothing less than the maximum sentence.

Anyone who knows me knows my love for dogs. In the case of Michael Vick it does look as if he is guilty. If tried and found guilty then I hope he gets the fullest punishment the law demands as well as a permanent suspension from the NFL.

I just don't get how peeps can do that. Human's enter the ring on their own accord. That I get ,but to put dogs or cocks in a ring , seems sub-human.

Dog fights are gambling.

Dog & cock fights are for gambling, just like dice, cards, roulette wheels, etc. I thought major league players, baseball, football, basketball, (OK, so forget basketball) had "no gambling" clauses in their contracts... anybody know if I am right or wrong?

They can gamble all they want as long as it is not on sports I believe.

If Vick plays for anyone this year,,, I will boycott all NFL games.

Rush Limbaugh said today that this case was being called, by the media, worse than the Ray Lewis case. He thought that because people died in that case and dogs died in this case that the media was devaluing human life. I think he was taking it a bit too far. My feelings on it are that animals can’t make that choice to fight. They were tortured in to being aggressive and killed if they lost in the ring, one way or another. Live is a fragile precious thing. In my mind this is just as bad as someone getting stabbed outside a night club. These dogs are victims.

That said Vick is still innocent until proven guilty. The bad publicity will still hurt him with the loss of product promotions and some teams simply won’t want him because of the potential loss in sales of team merchandise.

IMO people who mistreat animals earn a special place in hell. If everything that's being stated is true, Vick has been placed in 1st class and reservations confirmed.

I agree totally with Eli. I get freaked out when my two are just playing rough. I couldn't stand to see my dogs trying to fight for their own life. Not that I watch sports anyway, but I will also boycott the NFL if he is still allowed to play.

And, even though I HATE P.E.T.A., I wonder what those clowns have up their sleeve for Vick?

I think I read somewhere they (PETA) have some protests planned (I'm not a big fan of the, either Capt.)

With all the different things that he could have just by asking (which is a helluva lot more than 99% of the people on the planet) - it is sickening what entertainment (for lack of better words) he asks for. I know he is innocent until proven guilty, but man if he did this I hope like hell he pays a HUGE price and doesn't get off on a technicality.

PETA isnt an animal rights group. they are "take rights away from the human animal" group.

Even if they find that Vick didnt actually take part in the training/fighting or whatever, it was on his land, and its almost certian that he knew about it. He shouldnt play football again.

I have mixed feelings about PETA but thats off-topic.

The fact is that Vick, whatever happens legally is still an imbecile. With all the dog fighting stuff going on, people forget his past incidents. The water bottle with marijuana residue at the airport and flipping off the crowd after a loss come to mind.

I'm interested to see how Roger Goodell handles this: he has been dropping the hammer on some other people - Pacman Jones being a prime example.

It's funny in a sad way that Michael Vick has had to prove that the big brother always does everything better, he has now replaced brother Marcus as the king cretin in the Vick family. Not an easy thing to do.

Given the news of the last week, Vick looks screwed...

Just think of the talent he had with the multimillion dollar contracts he had for sponsorships...

He blew all of that because he bit on the fact that he was a celebrity and a "make shift god" of sorts. This behavior is why I rarely go to movies or watch TV.

If professional athletes are going to start doing the same crap then I don't need to watch sports on TV either.

I struggle sometimes to make ends meet. I burns my hind end to see a person with great talents waste them to see a dog kill another dog. Or to have an actress drive drunk time after time…

What a world we live in. Why do celebrities have so much power? The real question is: Why do we give them that power?

They're talking about the deal here on WFAN radio. It appears that the Judge, Henry Hudson, is a Hangin' Judge. He doesn't have to abide by the plea deal and can give Vick what he feels is commensurate with this crime. I hope he throws the book at him. Vick is one Twisted, sick freak!

He better get at least two years...

(Yes, I know that others only get 5 to 10 MONTHS, but he is an idol, a person people look up to so he should be held to a higher standard.)

PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT ANIMALS ONLY SERVE HUMANS SHOULD BE REMINDED WHO CREATED THEM.
