Just got word that a package arrived at the office. 2 VSG rounds (not sure on the sizes) and a VSG ER. Hopefully this is the beginning of a wonderful collection. I will post pics tomorrow. Wooohooooo!!

Although it is no Diploma :D

Macallan:
You are a pain in the rear reference the Diploma.
I love a person with the guts to have an attitude, and express it in writing.
You strongly suggest such qualities.
If your beloved Diploma ( I ordered Diploma Maduros) smokes as good as you suggest- I'll forward a bottle of French Sauterne for your enjoyment.
My measure of enjoyment is as follows: The Diploma at $8.00 each needs to be almost 2.75 times better than a Padron 3000 at $3.00 each.My taste- I'm the Judge.
Do you accept my challenge?
If Diploma better- I send bottle of wine.
If not- what is your position?

That sounds like a fair bet Macallan!

But the Diploma Maddy is quite different than the Corojo wrapper....hmmm

Go for a bet! Go Diploma!

Cigarsmoka:
Same deal same bet.
If you want in just say so.
I can afford two bottles.

I'm in! Although I can't vow as much for the Maduro,
but I will offer three sticks, a 6000 Maduro and two Anniversary...I'll have to check on my sizes...

Also, the Diploma if quite different from your Padron's, but I have to tell you I was a Padron Man and still keep them on hand, in fact I have a box of the Magnums as well the Londres....

I think you will be pleased

It is a tough call as everyone has differnet tastes, but you are a padron man so lets make it interesting. I will put up 2 Padron 64 imperial naturals and 1 padron 1926 no. 6 maduro (I think it is the no. 6, it may be the no.9) I dont know they are in the bottom of my humidor. All aged 13 months now.

Malone,

I hope you really dont think I have a bad attitude. I am just partial to some of my favorites.

The Ashton Virgin Sun Grown!!! Ahhhhhh, I remember my first virgin, ehhhhh, my first Ashton Virgin Sun Grown. One of these decades, I must up the bucks. First, I must find someone who actually HAS them, and then I must find the money. Neither is easy. :cryinlaugh:

Macallan:
Your attitude is great by me.I enjoy all or your comments.

Macallan & Cigarsmoke:
We need a rating system.
I suggest the following 6 catagories with a value from 1 to 10.
CATAGORY POINTS COMMENTS
Appearance
Draw & Burn
Taste - start
- middle
- end
Age
EXAMPLE
CIGAR # 305
Appearance 6 Rough veiny look
Draw & Burn 9 Stayed lit, lots of smoke
Taste- start 10 A+ pre smoke,full spices
- middle 9 hints of cedar
- end 5 got harsh & bitter
Age 5 Amonia, needs aging

Total 44/6= Rating 7.33

Add or modify any catagories that you feel that are needed for a fair comparison.

that works for me. honestly I think you are an honarable stand up guy so if you say you are not impressed I will know if it is a solid honest opinion. If you say you like I will believe that to. "Beauty is only in the eye of the beholder."

Three Diploma Maduro's arrived today. Some damage- minor splits at the foot. They got a little roughed up in shipping.
Nice looking cigar. I immediately went to my screened in pourch. At 6:30 PM it was still 81 degrees. First warm spring day in Maryland.I had to try it.Just couldn't wait.
I smoked it with no intention to rate it.I have two left which I will pay great attention to for our wager.
I needed to get familiar to this cigar and just sit back and smoke it.
I liked it, and look forward to the next two.
My first opinion, WHICH DOES NOT COUNT, is that this is going to be a difficult comparison.
My first Diploma had class, and my thanks to Cigarsmoka & Macallan for promoting this cigar. I expected something different.
I have a tough job ahead of me but I look forward to it.
Thanks
Malone
Anyway this cigar can be cheaper that $8.00 each.
