Wrapper Problems

A couple of days ago I had a RP fusion that has been in humidor since October, 2006, I really enjoyed this cigar but had problems with the wrapper coming off after about two inches. Checked my digital hygrometer which showed 65%, I took another digital hygrometer from my other humidor and put it in that humidor and it also read 65%. Today I smoked a CAO Brazilla and again enjoyed this cigar but once again had the same problem with the wrapper, this cigar has been in my humidor since September, 2006. Any comments or suggestions?

I keep my cigars at 65% and the only problems i will have is that down the cigar a ways it will get a crack thats no more then a inch long and when the ember gets to it then it opens up bot really only causes an ash problem and not a wrapper issue.

How deep are your cutting you cigars. If you are doing any more than simply shaving off the cap then chances are you wrapper is coming unraveled.

The unwrapping occurred in the middle of the cigar and I use a xikar cutter and put the cutter on a table then the cigar into it and cut no more than an 1/8 inch off. I am retesting both my hygrometers. I use beads in that particular humidor, my other larger one has an oasis. Both cigars looked good at the start…I will try another cigar tomorrow from that humidor. Thanks for your help!

Some cigars have fragile wrappers -
There are some that don't like the cold of winter.

Are you going outside at any point with these?

Try taking one out of the humidor a couple hours before
you smoke it & see if that helps?

Yes I am smoking outside, I will try your suggestion. Thanks for the help, I will let you know how it works out.
