My friend Phil is firefighter in Iraq. He has been there almost a year now. He sent me this picture of a tank fire they had outside their base. The temperature that day was around 115. And I thought it was hot here!!!

....wow I'm tired.

The weather over there is horrendous. When I was there, besides the nasty sand storms, it was 140 degrees. I would go to sleep at night and wake up in a puddle of my own sweat. My wife gets mad at me as I won't go to the beach with her (because of those sand storms). If we ain't going to Atlantic City, I ain't goin'!

Bob,

Believe it or not, there are alot of cigar stores that sold cuban cigars in Iraq and Kuwait. I found the store on the base in Kuwait two days before I came home. I bought a box of Cohiba Siglo VI for my father as a gift, but needless to say, they were smoked before I even got home!

Since I came back, I was having friends bring them home when they returned home. We flew back on an Air Force C5, and we never flew through customs, just back to our base. All of my friends are now home.

I have ordered through a website, that does send me emails once a week on the current shipping situation. I only ordered once and probably will not do it again, as I received a shipment of three different boxes. Everything came, but, I could not have the pleasure of opening my own box. There are easier ways to get em', and I am sure I'll find a way one day!!!!!

Check this out. This is the newest vehicle on our Department. Just kidding. My Firefighter friend in Iraq sent me this pic. This is always on his base. How sweet. He said the pilots are more interested in the Firetrucks, and the firemen are more interested in the helicopter.

My son is going to Kyrgyzstan in a couple of weeks and will be over there until January. Wonder if there is somewhere he could find some ...

Our department has a new offroad vehicle. Knowing those guys, I thought that things could only end badly. Now I'm just glad there's no Apache in the bay.

Um, dbrad, your new, ummmmm, uh, . . .

girl there. Ummmmm, uhhhhh, yeah, . . .

your new girl there. One question.

last year

when I was over there last summer. It was 135+ and 100% humidity. i vowed never to complain about the heat in SD again. 110 + is not uncommon here.

It was the first time i've ever seen it rain with no clouds in the sky. First time I ever seen water just pour off of buildings b/c it was so humid.

Not to mention the most miserable i have ever been in my life. Soon as you step outside you are completely soaked in sweat and ocean water haha.

ahh, what a great expierience.
