My youngest son turned 16 today! Higher auto insurance, more gray hair, and ... less money for dad to spend on cigars from now on I'm afraid.

But look at what my wife got me for my son's birthday ...

Looks cool Dean,
I can see ya out on the lake or pond drowning a few worms and burning a few cigars

nice gift.

if you didnt buy a cigar to smoke with him when he turns 18 the day he was born, now seems like a good time for that.

... unless you two already smoke cigars together. even then. get some age on a good cigar.

I wish ... still have one daughter to go. She'll be 15 in January. By the time I get them both through college I won't know what a good cigar tastes like.

He's way to into sports and such to even think about it. He won't even drink anything other than water and will only eat "good" food. Wrestling season is here and he'll be watching every ounce. But maybe when he's 18 and won the state championship in his weight class ... I'll put a couple away just in case.

I am thinking of just making my kids get the dang loans themselves, My wife and I had to why not them. LOL

Congratulations brother - it is an exciting ride to be sure.

I finally get my son to the point of almost leaving, and he is talking about taking 8 years of univercity just so he can stay home with his folks - NOT!!

Haha, it's interesting to see the other side of this story.

Speaking for all of your sons about to leave, we're ready to get out too!

As parents at a certain point I think we all say don't let the dorr hit you in the a$$ on the way out!!!!

When the kids were young I treaded the day they would leave home then they became teenagers. I think it is God's way of making the parting go a little easier.

How Freudian of you...what you were thinking about the kids is...."trading"

But Dean, you can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel. The rest of us have just got into the tunnel.
