your ideal smoke

if you could make your own cigar, what would it taste like? What type of body, flavor, aroma, wrapper, what sizes would it come in?

I would have the flagtship size be a gran panatella with a ring of at least 44, and as long as I could get it to smoke good. Then I'd have the regulars, Corona, Robusto, Double Corona etc...
The body would need to be pretty full but not overpowering. I really like the texture of the Diploma wrappers, hearty, thick and super aromatic, it would have to smell like cheese or feet. I'm not into spicy cigars that much, but I'd want to find tobacco that would produce really rich, thick and chewy, creamy flavors. Thats pretty much it. Not too much to ask for

THE best cigar that I've ever had would have to be an Ashton. I believe it was a Churchill. It was the smoothest smoke from start to end that I've ever had. Creamy, creamy, creamy. Whatever Ashton did to that cigar I wish they'd do it to all of them. I've bought other Ashtons anticipating they would be as good as the other one but they weren't. So, my cigar would be an Ashton, with the wrapper removed and a label with my name put on it! :D While I'm here, I'm smoking a cheap Don Mateo now and I must say, for a $1.60'ish cigar, they're not too bad. Simp Ooh, that gives me an idea! New topic coming up.....

Not having the wealth or access to some of the great ones from the ISOM...my perfect cigar would be a Nicaraguan puro. Probably a perfecto, definately a huge ring guage like 60 or greater. It would have a dark (not totally black), very toothy wrapper. It would have a little bite when you first light it...but after about an inch it would mellow into a slightly sweet, very creamy, medium to full flavor stick which tastes great right to the burning end! It would leave me mourning its finish and considering firing up another.

Hmmmm ...

I like a wrapper with a creamy flavor that can be spiced up with just a few short puffs.

I like a well constructed cap that I can press the tip of my tongue against for that sharp leafy flavor after it's been throughouly moistened.

I like the sweet aroma of the oils in my beard the after I wash my face (this can last several days and is one of the reasons I don't smoke more than a couple times a week).

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this; but a well constructed (CAO is the best in that respect) medium to full bodied smoke (natural or maduro) ranging in size from 50 ring and 7" to 60 ring and 5" to 5 1/2".

Always long-filler!

Examples of really good impressions:
Ashton Natural Churchill
Torano Gran Reserv Torpedo
Hoyo De Monterrey Excalibur Maduro
CAO Gold
CAO Brazillia Gol
Cohiba Red Dot Churchill

The cigar that hooked me was an Indian Tabac. It was a Christmas gift when I was a non-smoker. It sat in a filing cabinet in storage for a year before I finally smoked it on a whim (in it's tube). That's all I remember about the cigar itself. The rest of it is the experience.
