March 5, 2005, there will be a small (35+ people) gathering at Churchills in Boston from noon to 5 pm. There are a few vendors on board, should be fun. Any and all you folks here are invited.

Any interest? If so, my contact info on profile page.

The Colonel,

Perhaps Cigar.com could provide some cigars for your event. I will have Thor contact you. What other vendors are participating?

Alex, thank you. One of the other guys putting it together is keeping the vendor list. I'll call him later and let you know.

Alright, kids, only a couple weeks away. Bloofington, BostnBill and I are gonna send you a plane ticket. Hell, I'll come get you.

We have confirmed donations from:
Cheap Humidors
Famous Smoke Shop
Cigars International
Lil Brown Smoke Shack

I spoke to the editor of Lew Rothman's new mag, Cigar Magazine, and she'd like me to write a story and send off pics for Summer 2005 issue. She may send some stuff out as well.

It's gonna be a great time!! Who can make it?

It keeps getting bigger.... if you live anywhere in New England or beyond, join us. Great smokes, great people, great time. We want you there Bloof. Spoke to the swimmah, if you go, he'll go.

Bill

WOW!!! Cheap Humidors is still in business? :eek:mg: :eek:mg: :pumpkin:

And you guys got http://www.lilbrown.com too? :eek:mg: :eek:mg:

How come we don't an emoticon for a guy snapping to attention and saluting. You guys really do it up!!!!

As for me being there, it's a Friday and that would mean taking Amtrak back to my hood, which would mean getting off at Poughkeepsie. If the party ends at 5 p.m., depending on the train schedule, I could get back home at a decent hour that night and still have the weekend at home. That's actually quite possible, because Friday's I'm usually sort of free. The only problem would be GETTING there. I'd have to leave early in the morning. I'll have to check train fares, because with the taxi fares to and from Poughkeepsie Station, depending on Amtrak's fares, the trip could cost me well over a yard, maybe two. That's the problem right now.

Bloofington, I made a call. The stars are going to be aligned just right so your attendance is a go.

Well, kids, here is the latest vendor list. Special thanks to our members here, Alex and Thor. You guys are great!

Amazing. Ree-goddamn-diculous. Why? 'Cause we got serious smokes and/or serious smoker stuff coming from the following purveyors of fine tobacco products:

2 Guys Smoke Shop
Atlantic Cigar
Bucanero Cigars
CAO International
Cigar Magazine
Cigars.com
Cigars International
Cuban Crafters
Famous Smoke Shop
Lil Brown Smoke Shack
Mr. Bundles
Mr. Jerry
Tabacalera Perdomo
and Torano Cigars!!

Colonel, just as long as someone calls ME soon to fill me in on the details. Or send me an e-mail. I've got a lot happening right now, and although I can probably arrange to be free that Friday, I have to start planning now. I'd also like to know how much money I need to bring, etc., and have to make plans to get back. I have to start checking Amtrak. Send me a PM or e-mail. I got blown off the site Friday morning and only just made it back to AmBack a few minutes ago. I'm catching up now while getting ready to leave for work.

Latest:

AVO and Gurkha are sending reps.

If Steve DeOssie isn't at bike week in Daytona, I'm sure he'll show. I'll be seeing him either Saturday or Sunday.

I have a call into Louis Tiant's camp, hoping to hear soon if he'll grace us that fine afternoon.

I've done some research. With a car it would be a pretty easy drive, 192.2 miles from my house, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, but there's no direct route from Poughkeepsie on Amtrak. I'd have to go to NYC, then catch a train for a four hour plus ride. The cost as well is prohibitive. Oh well, I guess you'll be posting pictures. :D

I'm asking that anyone interestd, sign up here by Friday, February 25, 6PM. Barry, Churchills owner needs a head count by Saturday.

Thanks.

Bloof, Bus??? Greyhond has some sweet deals.

I forgot all about the Ol' Greyhound Route. I'll check online. That's an excellent idea. If they have direct service, I could probably be there in four hours or less. I'll let you know. If anyone needed proof that I was as much of a dumb blond(e) as I say I am, that was it. I forgot all about long distance bus service. :duh:

Still no word from the celebs. Ron White from The Blue Collar Comedy Tour is in Boston this weekend, I invited him to the plan finalizing meeting tomorrow.

Padilla cigars is now on board.
