any1 have suggestions on a good cigar for a lower price that u would not be embarressed to pass out for others to smoke with u...

what pricerange? connies are about 35.00 a bundle and smoke like a 6.00 cigar. all my other favorites are more. 5.00-8.00 ea.

i buy for flavor, and only flavor, and just listed my cheap smokes in "good cigars" 2 minutes ago. if you are passing them out, your guests may look at apperance, amount of smoke, and the name on label. i have seen several others listed here. padrons are good, fuente has some cheaper ones that are good[curly heads are dirt cheap] and olivia[ i hate them but many have raved about them] rolys are also o.k. but tend to get bland after 2 or 3. sorry i couldnt help more. ask me again in a month

I think you should also consider the experience of the people you are passing them out to. First timer or seasoned vet? You wouldn't want to hand out a full bodied 7 x 60 to a first timer.

I also am a flavored cigar smoker, but only premium cigar flavors. I recommend a flavored cigar for new comers. CAO Flavours, Heavenly, ACID, and so on. Get them started off on the right foot by not giving him/her a gas station cigar. CAO has a Tin pack with 10 4x32 "cigarillos" that are good starters and less expiensive.

As for as non-flavored are concerned, I would nearly always hand out a Cusano 18 for a first timer or any seasoned vet that has never had one. Very creamy and smooth!

Most all of the flavored and the Cusano 18 are for under $5

Just show the first timer how to properly get the hang of lighting, cutting, and etc..

Flor de Oliva is a great bundle of cigars that everyone from Connoissuer to beginner can enjoy. It's a solid stick with a great reputation to back it up. I think they are even lower than your price range too.

I'll second the C18's with Blackwater, can't go wrong with that one.

i bought a box of the cusano 18s for that very reason. they go extremely well with port btw.

If you want nice presentation and quality smoke go for any of the sol cubanos. They are less than 3.00 a stick and come with double bands that are embossed and come in an attractive dark heavy wood box. If you want an inexpensive bundle the oliva- flor de oliva cant be beat.

There are alot of good inexpensive smokes, one of my favorites is La Unica $3-4 a stick.

yes i've had a c18...its a very good smoke for the price i think. i dont kno if my friends will b able to apprciate the taste but they will soon enough.

im tryin to get a local cigar club together of my friends but i dont kno how exactly to run it...if any1 has any suggestions jus post plz

thanks for every1's input

Mega-La Unica-Dittos on the La Unicas. To this day, they still cost only a bit over $3 apiece for the largest sizes if you know where to get them, and have always been one of my favorites. I only like the original light Connecticut shade wrapped La Unicas. I know they seem to have scored a winner with some folks with their Cameroon wrapped release that came out about two years ago.

Oh, and as for how to run that cigar club:

(i) NO ASSHOLES!!! Just nice people. If they can't all be friendly, they should at least be nice. Nice without friendly is okay, but people who ain't nice can stay away;
(ii) Have cigars. Smoke cigars. :cryinlaugh: :duh:
(iii) Have alcohol, but don't let anyone drink too much unless they live there or are staying over. And anyone who drinks too much has to stay nice. No fighting.
(iv) Have girls who smoke cigars. A lot of them look nice, and they are all fun to talk to. Any woman who smokes cigars is automatically fun to talk to. There's one out there who trains rottweilers. :mrgreen: :pumpkin: ;
(v) Do not start fires, except in your cigars. Fires ruin cigar clubs and cause police and fire folks to come over. That gets you in trouble and costs you money. A lot of cops and firefighters also smoke cigars and most are nice people. Try to have a few in your club. They can keep the place secure and flame free. :pumpkin: :sm_angel:
(vi) Try to have a few core members to keep the interest and the club mentality alive. A cigar club is like a team. Tight ends, Centers, Quarterbacks are all important positions. You need to keep people in certain positions.
(vii) A simple web site or online newsletter is also a good idea. Having things to do, like club fishing expeditions or even vacations to certain cigar making meccas like the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua or Honduras can keep interest alive and be very educational.;

Hopefully, I can think of more.
