Well, I think I'm going to have a good cigar tonight.

My son gets into the airport in about an hour. He was home for a week last June and left the first week of August on a deployment to Kyrgyzstan. He was there until January. He'll be home until the end of the month.

That sounds great!! You guys have a cigar together and catch up on all the news. Tell him that even Canadians are behind him all the way, and hope for a safe return of all the boys over there!!!!

Hope you have a great time together!

BTW, what are we doing in Kyrgyzstan? Are they having another civil unrest again?

who cares about these little third world countris let them all kill each other off then we take over MUWHAHAHAHA

We have personnel at an air base in Kyrgyzstan. August 2004 he went to Qatar and then to Kyrgyzstan. Last August he went straight to Kyrgyzstan.

Reading in the CIA World Factbook, one of Kyrgyzstan's larger exports is tobacco.

Tobacco?! It must be for cigarettes....unless.... :bolt:

Give your son a very resounding OO-RAH! for me.

Semper Fidelis.

Will you please give him a slap on the back from me? I love all our service men and women. They are today's heros. God Bless them all. :tomcat:

Funny, people from those same little third world countries say the same thing about Queens and Brooklyn. And you know the outcome from that kind of altercation... Queens would be renamed North Flatbush. 8)

Wait a minute ... where is this Queens and Brooklyn? And what's a Flatbush (I could hazard a guess on that one but ...) :?

Tell you son welcome back and thanks for the service. So what did you smoke?

I dont know about queens being named flatbush...its not as bad as it used to be and queens doesnt have a high crime rate but i know in my neightborhood there are more weapons then flatbush (they just arent used) untill that war comes! bring it and nyc is made of 5 boros Queens Brooklyn Manhatten Staten island and the bronx flatbush is the hood and queens is nice ;)

edit: i will have all the kazakastan people drive there cars head on into the people from flatbush (they are known for insurance fraud )

Well guys and lady, one of the hardest things I have ever had to do is take my son to the airport and send him on his way back to the Air Force after a visit. It hurts every time.

The worst times were when he was in training at Kessler AFB and he was close enough I could go get him for weekends at home. When I'd take him back and have to leave him standing outside the dorms waving as long as I could see him.

I really feel for families that have to send off loved ones knowing they're going into harm's way. I know there are some here. God bless you all.

I'll never forget when I was in Kuwait, about two days before we entered Iraq (we didn't know that at this point). I was out on the flightline at AAS getting our 53 ready for flight, when my Gunny Sergeant came out to me to tell me I had a visitor. I went to our makeshift HQ to see my younger brother standing there. He was with his Master Sergeant from another base in Kuwait. My brother told me that his Platoon from the 2nd CEB (Combat Engineer Batallion) was crossing the LOD (Line of departure into Iraq) in two days to go to war. His Master Sergeant confirmed as I didn't get this info yet.
I was granted permission to go and spend the rest of the day on my base with him so we could eat dinner together, and then it was time for him to leave. As I said goodbye to him, I was able to et our picture together. All I could think about was mom. Damn, she must be going out of her mind!
Well the war started and we both made our way into Iraq through different routes.
About a month and a half later, I met up with my brother again in Bagdad and yes! Of course we lit up cigars. I can't remember what we smoked but that is not important. I didn't see my brother for another 8 months after that till we were both home in NJ.
