Okay now that i got your attention.

I just got my first humi in the mail 2 days ago. its 100 count. i would take pics but my digi is broken.

Anyways.I salted my digital hydrometer and it read 70% okay no problem.

so now i have the analog one that is built into the humi is reading 90% when my digital say 65% wich is perfect right

I am just wondering if its normal for an analog to be that far off or if its just a cheap on.

btw its still seasoning so there are no cigars in there in case anyone was wondering

Yeah when i got my new humi the analog was crap it read something different everytime i tested it.

my analog that came with my humi reads OVER 100% when its actual levels are at 68%, so yes it is normal for it to be that far off.

Have you salt tested the analog?

Once you do, you can adjust it on the back.

Only on some - but they never work right anyway!

So if your Digi reads 75% your really at 70%
for me it is a little high, but not anything bad.

once you know how much the analog is how from a calibrated digi you have, just turn the screw on the back to adjust the needle accordingly...

It's not uncommon for an analog to be waaaay off.
My suggestion would be to take the analog out of the humi and use it as a hockey puck...it'll be more productive that way too

Everybody says to just adjust these analog POS's when they're that far off, but I don't trust their linearity that far away from center at all. I put both my anaolg and my digital in the same salt test. They were different by ~10%. Then I put them in my humi. They were different by ~20%. Now the analog sits next to my humi, holding down some cigar bags.

My little analog is even worse. I calibrated it - right on, but once I stuck it back into its little hole in the front of my humidor, it sits at 40% all the time. Nice to look at - not worth beans!

yeah mines in the front too.

anyways when my digi reads 65% it is really not 70% so i need to ad 5 to it which is not a problem at all. i was just wondering if that was normal for the analog or maybe i was doing the salt test way wrong.

anyways one more thing since my humi is seasoning it seems to be up at the 85%-90% Is that okay, will it drop down at some point or should i take the water dish out and see if it will stablize.
I was kinda under the impression that it would not be so high.

I would take the water out. The weather outside could be affecting the whole thing. Do you know what % your house is sitting at? That might be a factor.

i think my house is only at like no humidity
it is very dry right now

but i think i might take the water out .

If the humi gets down to 70 and stays there for a few days will it be safe to put cigars in it then or should i still wait a full 7-10 days

Most of my problems with my humi went away once I added cigars. That, and time, with cigars and finally getting some magnetic backing at wallyworld to put my sponge in has it up to 68%. I am doing the same with a smaller humi I got a few days ago, and it is working great. That one came seasoned though. My problem is I am gonna either have to make a coolerdor, or buy a 300 count. Damn guys, wish you would have warned me. :D
