Cigar Rotation? Good or.......

Now I know I have a small collection. I have about 110 fine cigars. I admit I like to play with them. I take my magnifying glass out and inspect them for any trouble. I rotate the cigars in my 2 humis, not from humi to humi but from bottom to top. My question is, is this a good thing? I am talking every 2-3 weeks. I read the post about beetles and just about had heart failure. I rushed home from work and inspected each and everyone. For now, I am convinced I am safe. I googled Cigar Beetles and learned alot too. I am switching to humi beads ( ordered them today). Is rotation with beads a good thing? Thanks in advance for your help here.

Cigar rotation. Oh boy, wait'll Vince gets in on this thread. Wait until Vince tells us about how, back when he had 11,000 cigars, he used to rotate them ONE QUARTER TURN  every half hour of EVERY DAY!!! :eek:mg: :eek:mg: :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh: :help: :help: :flush:

Rotating your smokes is a good thing.

I face all of the bands of my cigars in the same direction. I rotate them 1/4 of the way every month or so to prevent tunneling (sp?) I keep the cellophane on my cigars to minimize damage from all the handling. It's good to keep a close eye on your investment (I check for any signs of beetles.)

Every time I look at your avatar, I laugh almost as hard as I do at the one Carduus uses. :cryinlaugh: :rotflmao: :pumpkin: :pumpkin:

I too like to rotate, handle and inspect. You have a fair bit of an investment in icgars, it is wise to stay on top of any trouble for sure! You are just enjoying your investment.

I never do - but I have 4 fans in my humidor & it keeps pretty even RH

My cigars in my Smoking room never stay very long

Not quite that bad, But I did rotate the cigars 1/4 turn every week or so, & I would take the cigars on the top of the box & put them on the bottom when I had rotated the box a full turn, it was a labor of LOVE, I dont know if it did any good but I didnt get any complaints about bad burns or tunneling , at one point in my life I was smoking 5 cigars a day & every one was over 2 years in the humi, Now, hahaha I smoke them still cold from the UPS delevery hahahahahahaha

Those deliveries sure can be COLLLLLDDDDDD!!!! Ever unpack a booze order right after the guy hands it to you? Man, WHERE WERE YOU PEOPLE KEEPING THIS STUFF? :cryinlaugh: :cryinlaugh:

I got a suprise cigar order one COLD day, such a suprise & when I opened the box , ZOWIE, I had to have one right now, I opened the box & headed to the Qtr.Deck, & torched this BIG Wonderful Monte #2, right from a buddy on vacation in Barcelona , well I should have let it warm up a bit , that S.O.B. split right down the side , Now I wait till they have had a time to warm up & gather some humidity . ! Enjoy, Vince

I rotate my singles once every two weeks. I do it just because I like to inspect the cigars and change how they are arranged. If I want to smoke something a little different I may move it from one of my smaller humidors into my cabinet drawer. Right now I have a few Gurkha's in there I'm looking forward to trying. I try to avoid moving the non-cellophaned ones just to prevent wrapper damage.

Brenda's got it just about perfect. Saturday morning is when I "Play" with the cigars. You just got to take care of the "Kids".
