Somewhere Out there
This will probably seem like a very obvious question for you. But what exactly is a box pass, how how does it work? How can I get in one, and is one on process for me to jump into?

BOX PASS... Answer

A box pass is a organized mailing of cigars among participants on a list. The originator of the box pass loads up a box with cigars (non-ISOM or ISOM, depending upon what the specifics of the pass are) and mails it to the next person in line. The recipient of the box takes a certain number of cigars & puts some back in the pass and mails it to the next person on the list inside the box. The list inside the box contains names & addresses of all participants so it can continue on from person to person until it goes back to the originator of the box pass who usually ends up getting quite a stash of stogies. There are no set schedules for box passes, however, there are usually holiday passes around Thanksgiving & Christmas time. Otherwise, there are box passes sprinkled all over the year at various times, just watch the Cigar.com Forum & you will see notices posted and instructions for signing up. Try one, its fun!

It has been quite a while since I actually got invovled in a box pass, but boy, are they sure fun. But before you join a box pass, it is a good idea to join in the "PIF" (pay it forward), Fun and games thread, and trader thread. This allows other members of the forum to see you in trades, and build a rapport with members. This also builds trust with the membership. We can get kinda of leary when a member whom has just joined and not interacted in trades, receive 400.00 worth of cigars in a box pass. PLEASE take no offense to my statements. All of our new members seem to be STAND-UP members! So please, get involved in these trades and PIF's!

I'd be more then happy to start a box pass to build trust...no clue how to set it up tho...

I'm not sure how to say this without coming across as pompas...

But if i wanted $400 of cigars id just call Donny. I'm never interested in ripping people off...but i do understand what you are saying

Thank you for your understanding. Sometimes new members can take serious offense when the word "trust" is mentioned, as if we are questioning their integrity. Not so, just looking out for our small family of friends here.
