I just purchased a John Wayne 100th Commemorative lighter at the local shop. It's laser etched on their Black Ice case. Top notch design, and very hefty. They are limited to a production of 5000, so I jumped on it when I saw it.

Nice one Colonel. I'll keep a lookout for that one.

I have 3 Zippos. One my wife just got for me for Father's Day with The Beatles on it, one from circa 1952 (it was my dad's) and another manufactured in 1974. They all have z-plus inserts in 'em and they're the only lighters I use for my cigars.

I have one zippo that I use all the time. My father retired from Glidden after 30+ years as a research scientist. He used to give this out as gifts. When he retired he gave me a half dozen. I gave all but one to close friends. Sentimental more than anything else.

Although I'm a butane torch user myself, I have long been an admirer of the beautiful designs on the Zippo lighters, and the timeless durability and basic design of the lighter itself. The reliability is unquestioned, and Zippo users everywhere have a pretty much fail safe lighter, if kept filled and properly maintained.

toss out the guts of your old zippo, instal the Blazer Z Plus insert, BEST LIGHTER I EVER HAD, I now carry 3 of them as I am always lighting up cigars in the shop for customers, I dont want to run out mid light , so I have 2 back ups , great collector cases, 2 different Navy Logos ( what else ) & one Zippo 75th anniv . , I have my fathers old zippo he had when he was in the army but it is still in the foot locker , maybe my grandsons will want it .
