is this bill the end of tobacco?

Taxes are going to triple in the next two years, then continue to go up until the industry is killed.

I'm not going to stop buying cigars. Tax or not.

Join the CRA. Its the only way we as smokers will ever make a difference.

Yes joining CRA will be the nice option for all the smokers like us to make some effort for reducing these taxes. If they want to increase its fine but 3 times hike is not acceptable.

I dissagree because of Aubs post below. And if it does, whose industry will be hurt? The third world nations who are producing the product will hurt more than the retailers, I believe. Not to say that the retailers wouldn't be hurt.

I agree. Most cigar smokers won't. Yes there will bitching and moaning, but the majority of us will go along.

Thank goodness for lobbyists! No matter the issue, someone is in Washington influencing on our behalf.

I recently heard that a majority of the dues for CRA goes to paying the 2-3 people in charge of it.

I joined the CRA, dont care how they spend the money as long as they get congress out of the cigar industry.

Well, here we are after the tax, and the cigar industry is alive and kicking. They have just adapted, making boxes of 20 instead of 25, so the price stays the same, but you are getting less.
