Blind Box Pass Sign Up

Brenda,

The box usually can go USPS, UPS, or FedEx, depending on what's convenient for each person. I usually use USPS or UPS.

The box is large enough to handle the cigars in their baggies and envelopes, with packing to preserve the cigars during shipping.

:poke:

Hehe - lets get this party started! I'm totally jazzed about this!

Looks like we'll be under way early next week. If anyone else wants in let me know by the end of the week.

I'm looking at a minimum value for the cigar puts at $5.00. No maximum value. Any input from the players? PM me.

A few questions and suggestions:

1. How many takes/puts can we have?
2. The take/put limit may need to be adjusted by how many participants and envelopes there are.
3. Extra envelopes should be included in case someone chooses to put more than they take.
4. The total number of envelopes in the box should be tracked throughout the process.
5. I think it would be cool to not list the initial or subsequent puts. This way it would be a true surprise what you get.
6. We could put our name and maker/name/size of cigar on a slip of paper in the envelope with the cigar. This way we would slowly build a list of who put what after they get taken!

What do y'all think? Anybody else have suggestions or comments on any of my suggestions? Of course dbrad4d gets the final say!

I like this - but I would say that you should list the takes and the person who put them in. This would keep the excitement up - but also keep the surprise on what is still in the box. Otherwise all we'll see in the posts is "Got the box." "Sent the box."
But the surprise factor is definitely cool!

That is exactly what I meant to say...after each take we get another piece of the puzzle. We can keep a running list of the 'takes' and who 'put' them as we discover them.

Doh - and rereading it again, I realize that IS exactly what you said. For some reason I read it as keeping the puts AND takes secret.

Some get me some coffee - STAT

Got RedLeg0811 added and I think we'll have to call it closed now. That gives us 15 stops along the trail.

Here are the pass guidelines. I took what cigarsmoka had set up on the first box pass and modified it to fit the blind selection of cigars.

1. I will stock the box with an initial inventory of 20 cigars. All cigars will be in individual sealed envelopes.
2. Each player may take from the box up to 5 cigars of his/her choice by blind selection and will be expected to replace the "takes" with an equal number of "puts" as a minimum.
3. Minimum value of cigars to be put is $5.00. No maximum value is set. Use prices on cigar.com as a guide and ask if in doubt.
4. Post your “takes” in the pass thread on the forum. Don’t post your “puts”, leave them a mystery for the rest of the passers.
5. Please do NOT under any circumstances add flavored or artificially aromatic cigars to the box (NO LARS, NO ACIDS, NO HAVANA HONEYS, ETC.)
6. If your puts are not in cellophane, please wrap them in plastic wrap or place them in an individual bag to protect them before placing in envelopes.
7. Each cigar put is to be placed in an individual envelope and sealed. Extra envelopes will be in the box. Envelopes are to be placed into large zippy bags with a water pillow, sealed, and packed in box for shipment.
8. If necessary, please replace the outer shipping box before sending the box to the next player. If humidification seems to be a problem, please address it before sending the box on.
9. Use your best judgment when shipping the package. Since they are cigars, USPS Priority, FedEx, or UPS, 2 to 3 day delivery, insure it for a minimum of $300, and be sure to get a tracking number and post it in the pass thread.
10. I will include a list of the players and addresses in the order they are to receive the box. I'll post the order of pass when the box is ready to start its first leg.
11. We're relying on every player to be fair and to avoid unnecessary delays in completing the circuit.

I'm doing this in good faith. Everyone here seems to be stand up characters so hopefully we'll keep the streak of successful box passes going. Let's have some fun with it!

Woooo WOooooo 15 stops on the BOX PASS TRAIN!

Trains don't move very fast do they? Maybe I should call it the BOX PASS LEAR JET?!?

Sweet - I'm excited! Nice rules Dean.

Can't wait to see the order!

I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!

Are you going to throw in a disposable camera to take pics of us smoking what we get like the last pass?

That would be cool.
