Blind taste test.

Got my package this am. Marked Saturday delivery. Maybe I am in a different day zone and nobody told me? How long do you want them to rest?

Ok! Mine came yesterday afternoon. So I'll be smokin them shortly! There will be a review with each cigar I smoke. This is gonna be a lot of fun. Thanks Chris!

RE: Labels -

A label can have an influence on what I try, but not whether or not I like it. Maybe it's the graphic designer in me, but my initial thoughts are that if a brand appeals to me on a visually aesthetic level, then there may be other levels they appeal to me on as well. Doesn't mean they will mind you, I may hate them. And it may keep me from stuff I like as well. In which case I need a trustworthy recommendation. But that first impression will always be visual.

Brennivin,

I read here everyday "you have to try this cigar, it is simply the best" Now one guy may go try that and try so hard to convince himself that it is a good cigar cause many people like it. If you look at the people trying the cigars they are from the very experienced to the brand new. there is a WIDE range in price point the cigars being tried. I want to find out why people like a cigar, not from a band determining what they have to pay or if the rest of the board finds it good. I have one review back and I was a bit surprised all ready.

it was my review.
i just happen to like a richer cigar with a different flavor profile. Getting back to the brand thing... i found that i didnt like the hemmingway series. I know its a top of the line kinda thing and people always say how good fuente is but i was only ok with it. I go by what i like not by what the brand is. In my catalog the cusano P1 robusto got a 9.0. this is a bundled cigar. The graycliff profesionale got an 8.7.

i dont care one lick about price. its how they taste.

on that note, im going to go try another one of the blind taste test cigars.

ok. Im two cigars into this test and all i can say is guessing the wrapper/binder/filler is hard. i have a lot more respect for cigar blenders than ever before.

I was thinking about this today and you should post all our reviews together using cigar #1 and Cigar # 2 and so on but give everybody a day or so to read them and think on that information BEFORE you say what each cigar was.

I am very curious to read these reviews! I know that in the relatively short time I have been smoking cigars, I have found that I did not care for some of the "Big Brand" smokes that a lot of people rave on (people who's opinions I respect a great deal) This is not always the case, but I have to say that I have bought and smoked quite a few sticks that I thought were just so-so because of the name on the band. Yet I have truly enjoyed some not so popular labels... What a great Idea!!

I'm with you spider. I've tried quite a few and sometimes pricey cigars based mainly on the reviews it received and have been quite disappointed with many of them. To date my favorite brand is the relatively inexpensive 5 Vegas.

im going to get to my last review on either monday or tuesday.

ive been looking at that last cigar (#4) a bunch... i think i know what it is.
