Here is the way I cut my cigars now. I find this easier than a cutter, especially with Cuban cigars that are extremely flat capped.
Of course, this will not work with torpedo cigar shapes. Basically, you pinch the cap, rotate it 45 degrees and pinch it again, to make a full circle. Notice on the last pic, the pinch is centered, and not near the edge. I always wet the cap first, then pinch. Be careful not to pinch the whole cap off, or you will be left with a cigar that will unravel.
