Greetings from the not too distant past

I hope everyone is doing well. The past couple months have been stress-filled and very busy for me.
Until today I was without a computer since May (my psu failed causing my mobo to fry). I’ve been too busy between school and work to get it fixed and I would have gone longer without a PC had it not been for the fact that the box pass arrived this weekend!

And if that’s not enough…I even flushed my cell phone down the toilet around the beginning of May!! So anyone who gave me their number, please PM me with it so I can write it down this time.

And of course I missed Capt’s shindig which really upset me. I wish I could have been there buddy, but for the past month I’ve been helping to open a restaurant which takes up more time than I thought. Throw in catering jobs as well as some private dinners and that pretty much sums up my extracurricular activities.

I have 8 weeks left at the culinary academy and I’m in my second week of Advanced Garde Manger. It’s located directly above the boiler room so even if we aren’t burning protein the temp hovers around 105º. We’re also located in a section of the building known to us students as the “zoo,� since the rooms are surrounded by windows so guests at the school’s restaurant can observe us in our natural habitat. I don’t mind though since I can impress people with my knife work…Who knew that simply filleting a salmon could draw such dumbfounded onlookers?

Rather than dig up my birthday thread, I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent me something…talk about making room in the humidor for new arrivals, LOL.

Anyway, as busy as I am I’m gonna try to post as often as possible now that I actually have a computer to use. Although it was kind of peaceful after the initial 3 day PC withdrawal, it still bothered me not knowing what everyone was smoking today!
Hopefully it doesn’t take me the rest of the month to catch up on the forum.

I'll be sending out some PM's in a little while answering a few questions and getting myself re-sorted on the forum.

Funny thing is, this afternoon I'm going to be changing ISP's so hopefully it doesn't disrupt my online capability for too long :roll:

And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, my school lost it's lease with the building I'm living in so I now have 48 hours to vacate or pay a substantially higher rent...but at least I only have to move around the block.
