Sometimes if you want it done right, you just gotta do it yourself. For quite a few years I have made my own wine and beer. The last few years some friends and I have taken it to a higher level than just pails of juice or cheap grapes at the food terminal. We have ordered grapes from some of the finest vineyards in Napa. We crushed and pressed over a tone of grapes between the six of us. Mostly Cabernet and Syrah. We also made some Concord and Niagra.

Here are some pics of the group hard at work on those Dry Creek grapes.

Awesome! I'd love to see how much wine actually comes out of that many grapes.

Is that a bottle of Tintara Shiraz in the foreground on that last picture?

That seems like a great idea. I hope the wine comes out good fo you.

Looks like great fun. Once upon a time I use to make about 100 gal/yr in my garage. I would go to Philadelphia every year on or around Columbus Day and buy my grapes from the Italian Market. Truck them back to Virginia and start the fun. I guess the best part was the bottling party. All the leftovers (parts of Bottles) would go into a "Blend" we called Jungle Juice. Somehow the Jungle Juice all ways got drank first. This wine making is a great hobby

Look at those blue drums. Those were from an earlier batch of about the same weight.
