Armpit of the world....Al Asad, Iraq
Sorry it's been so long since I've been on.

A lot has happened in the last few months.

Back in Jan my unit received it's deployment order...we ship to Iraq again in July. # 4 for me.
Shortly after that I injured myself while running and had to have surgery on my knee. Rather simple one.
I had surgery on the 29th of Feb, two days later my father passed away of a massive stroke.
So with only 2 days of recovery I flew to Los Angeles to be with my family and help finalize arrangements for my father.
Once I got there I said goodbye to my father and tried to deal with his loss while trying to comfort my other brothers. One of which, Greg, took his loss very hard. Greg was the one who tried to help my father when he collapsed. He thought that he didn't do everything right, as if he missed something. We all tried to assure him that there was nothing that could be done. My father's lifestyle was what killed him. Smoker for 40+ years, ate the wrong foods, diabetic. He has a triple bypass 5 years ago and had a pacemaker put in 3 years ago. He never stopped smoking.

Nothing could console my brother. He just continued to drink way too much. He was a diabetic as well and 18 days after my father passed away, my brother Greg died of a heart attack brought on by alcohol consumption. Mixed with his diabetes, his body could not take any more.

Needless to say, it's been a very rough few weeks on me and my family.
I won't be on the forum for a while because I need to focus on other things for my family as well as getting ready for another deployment.

I'll be sure to post before I leave with my address.

-Jeff
