My Smoking Room... Finally.

You could always use Spanish cedar veneer over the panels. You would get the look and smell at a much cheaper price. If you want to stop the warping on the thin plywood you can take them down and put stiffeners on the back.

Actually I want the ceiling to have a durable finish so that I can wipe it down. That's why I've been looking at the prefinished plywood which I've used in the past.

As for the stiffeners, I was going to use them in the beginning, but because of ducting (the room is in the basement) there were severe clearance issues.

very nice , I wish I didnt need to go outside to get into my smoking room , but the wife knows where I am when she calls & I dont answer ! I do have some photos of it some plce here in the computer but I cant find them , my grandsons put everything in files & I have no idea what the name of the file is , he will know but he isnt at home to call him & ask , dammmmmm kids always messing things up hahahahaha

Nice job! I'm sure it will be a real place of enjoyment, peace and tranquility. An indoor oasis.

I'm jealous.

I smoked a couple cigars down there tonight while watching a movie. It certainly is an oasis.

I can already tell I won't be the only one using it. My brother went down there to smoke his Camels while visiting tonight. I can just see ten people crammed in there at some party in the future.

Quag,

For the ceiling, if you are looking for a durable finish have you thought of using Pergo flooring? Not sure if it would fit the bill or not.

Its much more work in my opionion than just buying the prefinished plywood. I'd much rather just replace them and be done with it. Either way, I don't want to do anything else in there for a while so I'm not going to stress about it now.

Great Job Justin.

There is only one thing to add to my smoking room; a heater. (That basement is cold)

I know what you mean. Its cold down there anyway, but the exaust fan turned it into a meat locker. So I bought one on clearance from home depot for the room.

A little side story--

That fan will exchange the air of the room in about 1.5 minutes. My brother used the room on Sunday and left the fan on. When I went down there about 4.5 hours later, the basement was about 45 degrees.

Is there a way to somehow counter the cool down AND keep the air circulation going? Or is that impractical?

That's OUTSTANDING, Justin!

LOVE the picture you sent me, brother! I have it hanging above my humidor now!
