introduction

Just wanted to introduce myself. I might be the youngest person on this forum. I'm an 18 year old senior in high school who just quit smoking cigarettes (it's been 2 weeks now) and has recently discovered how enjoyable a cigar can be. And while I enjoy cigars I don't feel I need them to function like I used to need cigarettes to function. Anyways I've smoked about 6 cigars in the last two weeks and have enjoyed all of them. My favorite so far has been a Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 I smoked a week ago. I hope maybe you can give me some more suggestions and recommendations on what I should smoke and what I need to know to fully enjoy cigars.

Welcome, bigwillie! Great to hear that you're kicking the cigarettes. There are a few people on the board who have used cigars and pipes to help give up the cigarettes. Just dig up some threads and you'll find some great suggestions on cigars to try. Really, it's up to you. If you have a good B&M (brick and mortar, i.e. a cigar shop) near you, just talk to the people who work there and let them know what you like. They can suggest others for you. Hope you enjoy it here!

Welcome to the board man! Good to hear you got of the cigs and have moved to cigars.

Hi, I just started looking through the forum, looks like a lot of help here.

I have been smoking cigars for ~5 years now, but have been limited in my choices. I am just recently starting to get adventurous and trying new choices. Hopefully I will get try more new sticks with the help of the forum.

I currently live in Henderson, TN (My work moves me way too much) with my beautiful wife who strongly supports my cigar love (and even joins me when I have a great cigar).

Welcome bigwillie and Vankleekkw!

You guys have come to the right place! Enjoy your stay!

Hello All, My name is Chris, I am a Marine stationed in Washington, DC. I was born into cigars in Jamaica about four years ago when I smoked my first Romeo y Julieta, been enjoying it ever since. I enjoy medium to full bodied cigars. Deep tones, spicy, and complex. Hints of coffee make my day, and nutty flavors leave me speachless. I have been lucky enough to enjoy cigars with Donny, one of the Cigar.com staff members because I have been dating his sister for three years now. It's nice to have a girlfriend that understands! Thanks Donny. Some of my favorite cigars, in no particular order. . . Perdomo Habano Maduro, Oliva Serie V Churchill, Cusano corojo, Padron 1964, and the Rocky Patel Fusion MM. Thanks for reading and thanks for supporting our troops cigar.com

Hey all, another DC area boy here. Ive been lurking about for the past month or so soaking up the knowledge and I though I would make myself known. Been a cigar fan for a good number of years but have gotten reacquainted over the last year or so. I look forward to learning a lot more.

Chris and Dan!

Hey guys...this is Aaron. I just joined yesterday although I've been browsing Cigar.com for a while now and I've been smoking cigars for about 1 year now. I don't know my exact preferences a lot yet but I enjoy experimenting around with the different blends to see which ones I prefer. My favorite one to date has been a Romeo Y Julieta Havana Churchill (or whatever the name of their Churchill size stick is). My birthday is March 15....just around the corner...turning the big 2-1...just throwing that out there in case any of you veteran smokers want to throw a favorite stick my way to continue finding my preferred stogie (just PM me for my address, i'll be more than happy to give it to you, haha). Anyways, all jokes aside, this is a great forum, the people seem very genuine and really do give great advice and seem to care about their fellow enthusiasts. Hopefully I can continue the tradition and help newbies some day like you guys have helped me.

Location

Woops, fogot to mention I'm in the West/Southwest Michigan area (Grand Rapids)...if anybody knows of some local or nearby good tobacco shops I'd really appreciate it because I don't really know of a good one nearby.

Welcome Aaron! Great to have you here. Remember a complementary five pack should be sent to the first person that asks as part of the terms of your new membership :D :D :D
