Possibly a taboo question ...

Hello everyone, this is my first time on the forum. I just recently began purchasing cigars online, I though it would be easier to get what I want when I know what I want. I placed my first order through Cigar.com a few weeks ago. It was a sampler package and one of the Cigars they sent was wrong. It seemed like a decent substitution but I thought I would confirm to make sure it was not just a mistake. I sent an email to their service which they claim they respond to in 24 hours, I never heard from them. I called and spoke to a very helpful gentleman who informed me that it was most likely a packing mistake but I told him I would like to try the "mistake" cigar anyway.

The problem is now that when I smoked said "mistake" it was dry and the wrapper practically crumbled off when I lit it. It burned unevenly and tasted like burnt sawdust. So I sent another email to customer service a few days ago just curious now if they may have slipped a substandard stick into my sampler just to get rid of it. I have not heard from them again.

Since then I placed an order with CI and am hoping all goes well with them. I am not trying to cause trouble but I don't want to feel like someones pulling a fast one. Not a lot of money involved but it may influence my business in the future. Anyone here have similar issues? Am I just being paranoid? God this is a long first post...

ive never had a problem with either.

ever.

I guess with any large company a few mistakes and errors slip through.

if you do order from Cigar.com again make sure to tell them what happened. Dont be mean about it. Just explain the situation and that you are giving them a second shot. Most good companies will go out of their way to satisfy a digruntled customer. I dont see why cigar.com would be any different

good luck with CI.

It would be nice to have someone respond to my emails. I am sure I wll give them a second chance. They carry Fuente Short Stories (my usual) and CI does not. I found a place in Cleveland that has them but they can be hard to find.

I notice your in Akron, I lived there on and off over the years and graduated from UA.

I've never had them not respond to an email. Perhaps there could be a spam filter in place that is sending their responses to the trash instead? I would personally give them a call and speak to them about the issue. I doubt they will do you wrong. I usually don't like dealing with people over the phone, I prefer email. But I actually enjoy talking with the cigar.com guys.

there is a place out here that will sometimes have the short stories also. I dont see them often but i get most of my cigars online now.
so i dont stop by that place often

Got my CI order today everything looks good. Still have not heard from Cigar.com. From the comments here it sounds like a fluke occurrence.
