I do believe this was genuine. As near as I can figure that was the famed trademark triple cap, which I understand is now being copied by Non-Cuban cigar manufacturers. It came from one of the reliable sources that I have had the good fortune to make the acquaintance of in years gone by on "another web site."

It was a dark wrapper, although perhaps not maduro dark, and the measurement was 7 3/8 x 51 (approximate ring gauge) and had a very singular flavor profile, but quite unique and pleasing. It came across as a cigar tasting mostly of very dark earth and a chocolate layer cake without the frosting, somewhat burnt and occasionally hitting on a rich, creamy sweet, although still "dark" earthy note.

This cigar smoked from 1609 hours until 1746 hours with excellent construction and a good draw until about two thirds of the way through when it got a bit tough. It is a somewhat humid 86 degrees up here, and although the humidity in Desk Top II was an "almost perfect for Cuban" 63% the heat of the day caused it to burn hot towards the end and mess with the draw. It didn't mess with the flavor, and like most genuine Cubans, especially of a large size, it packed quite a kick. Must've been in Desk Top II for about two years, and I'm glad I waited that long.

Can't beat those Cuban cigars. Occasionally equal yes, but never beat 'em, not on the whole.

You sure can beat those Cuban cigars, especially if you use a stick!

That must have been an Exhibition #1, Just gave one of these to Royal Corona when he came up to Boston.

Very nice cigar.

How you been, Bloof?

Yes, I got it from one of the "charter members" of "The Cuban Club," and a very nice cigar indeed. Good to see you around.

As for how I've been, that's always a loaded question, but life may be turning around for me at long last. The health is under control; all the aches and pains from my various injuries through the decades are there, aided by a bad fall I took in February, but in general I'm as fine as an old goat like me could be. I'm going to be finding out in the very near future if my financial life is turning around, but the picture appears to be a potentially positive one on that front.

Say hi to the gang for me. I have to get in touch with RC soon. It's been a while. I know he's busy.

Recently bought a box off a friend from another forum.
By some amazing showing of will power I have had it for 2 weekks and not smoked one yet.
Maybe because my wife has the flu - (Sicky as she says)
I always try to smoke the first pair from a box with Misa (My Wife)
These are right now some of the finest EL's that still can be had.
IMHO
