Good to hear from you, I still enjoy your postings on Sunday mornings :)

Its been a few months since I posted last, I cant do it by myself I need some feedback , just go back in the archives and see how busy this thread was ,,,, Its Late September , winter is knocking on the door I will not be spending my time outside much longer . Enjoy, Vince

Good Morning it is Monday 3/14/22 Pi Day , a short "VACATION " from posting , I will try to get back to my Sunday morning posts soon .
We had a few inches of snow over the weekend but it is going above freezing today and we should bet a good melt ,Hopeful that its the last of the shoveling for the season , I'm getting to old for this .

Time for me to get going and get dressed , I think I will be heading to the Qtr. Deck soon I have a very old corona from Puros Indios , it has 20+ years in the humidor , I have no idea how old or what it will be like , Im sure its past its prime as the aroma is very light and mild , who knows till I light it ! Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday 3/20/22 a cool wet day here in Da Burgh . the Garlic has sprouted along with the Dafadills and Crockis , cant spell either of them , what ever they are .
We had a quick breakfast of Bagels and coffee and watched the Sunday Morning show on CBS . I got the frozen cod out of the freezer and it will get wrapped in Spinach and feta cheese with a few layers of Philo dough , lots of olive oil and a few slices of onion on top , should be ready about 4 .
#2 grandson stopped last night for a cigar and a weeeee dram , a real shock when he got here ,Have not seen him in a few weeks , he is missing the smoke and whisky with the OLD man so it was nice to see him and of course he was GRILLED by his grandmother , ,,,, who are you dating where do you go is she cute, blaw, blaw , blaw ... well we did get a nice Smoke in the Qtr. Deck with a snifter of Irish for him and a snifter of scotch for me , Coffee for both of us but what he calls coffee I call a coffee milkshake , one Cameral coffee pod in the Keurig , set to 6 ounces , 3 spoons of sugar and 3 ounces of half and half frothed , mine is just a plain Double espresso . the Cigars were Opus X Angels share toro's that have been in the humidor just over a year .
We have had some 70+ days and I was able to sit on the back deck with a cigar and coffee , the Mail man even stopped for a coffee and cigar , he took his lunch break with me , but today looks like a Qtr. Deck day since its raining and only 40 . we Did get some of the wind chimes hung for the season of Sun the Dragon fly and Frogs soler lights are up and as soon as it warms up a bit more the Hummingbird feeder will be out , we did have a bird feeder out but the birds were eating a twenty pound bag a week and turning it into bird shit all over the back deck , stop the feeding and the shit went away , but we missed seeing the birds , so the Hummingbirds are a good alternative , they stay off the deck ,never land on the chairs and after 3 summers of them I have not found any shit on the chairs .... yet hahahah
The pot of Kona just finished and I will be heading to the Qtr. deck asap , looks like a Monte classic #3 will start the day . Enjoy, Vince

Good morning , it is Sunday 3/27/22 a COLD and Snow covered morning here in da Burgh the Temp is 30F and we have about 2 inches of snow that fell over night , according to the weather man we have reached out high temp for the day, so it will not be melting off today , looks like the shovel and broom are going to be needed again .
I have the Corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot , a weeee bit late for St. Paddys day but it will do I hope the wife likes it . The price of Brisket is out of sight , , I was paying about 2 bucks a pound for the Vac pack full cut and I trimmed it myself , now its over 6 bucks for the same cut of beef . Thanks Uncle Joe , gas is up , food costs are up all the "FREE" money we got is dropping our buying power , the way things are going I might need to go back to work to afford to live like I am retired ..... the Whisky and cigars Inventory's are dwindling , Even the coffee shop has raised the price of the green coffee beans , I might go to the packaged roasted pre-ground Stuff in the grocery store .... well on second thought maybe not , I like my coffee, cigars and whisky , Ill give up some thing else to keep them , like what I havent any idea , maybe going back to work part time ist a bad Idea ,,,,,, but it is . The wife is having her shoulder replaced on the 5th of next month , a week before her 73rd birthday , so I will be the home care nurse for a few months , until she is able to do it her self .
The construction of the Natural gas cracking plant in Monaca is moving along rather well as are all the gas well drilling sights in the area along with the pipe lines , compressor stations to supply the plant , the Roads are taking a beating with all the heavy trucks moving in and out , there are a few wells in my area, and pipe lines all over the place but the word on the street is we have 200 Years of gas trapped the the shale , so its time to bust up the shale and extract the gas , I would think it might be better to drive a natural gas powered car than an battery powered car , getting the minerals to make the battery is expensive , but so is drilling for gas , but with gas , there is no disposal of dead batterys , there is nothing to dispose of with gas , Im not a number cruncher but it makes sense to me to go with Gas .
I have the heat on in the Qtr deck and will be getting dressed soon and cleaning the walkway and drive way before heading out for the Sunday Cigar .... I think I might just grab a ISOM Partagas series D #4 , a weee dram might be in order after the removal of the snow , , to pair with the corned beef and cabbage it just might be a red breast Irish whisky and a mug of Irish Breakfast tea , NO Kona today ....
I would enjoy some feedback or comments as I hope to turn this into a chat not a monolog . Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday4/3/22 a cool wet day here in Da Burgh, it has been raining off and on all night and its about 38F now, the Heat is on in the Qtr. Deck and I will be starting out the Sunday morning smoke as soon as I finish this posting , I have a NICE OLD Cuba Alidios corona from 2000, been in the humidor 22 years along with a few more of the same . Thats the trouble with having 17 humidors , always finding stuff that you forget about , not to mention all the trouble with keeping the humidity up to par . I have the Kona in the press pot , doing a cold brew this week its been sitting all night I will be pressing it soon and sipping the sweet coffee juice it is making , the old cigar should match well .
Breakfast was just a quick bagel , and Columbian Coffee , I wanted to watch the CBS Sunday Morning Show , I find it a great way to start my Sunday adventure .
Last weeks Corned Beef Brisket didnt go over well with the wife , she saw Brisket and was thinking BBQ , how ever the cabbage and spuds were in her liking , so I had the rest of the corned beef all week , Now my farts smell like rye bread , mustard and corned beef hahahahaha
To Make up for my error last week I have a Hunk of Chuck braising with veggies , she should be happy about 4 when it will be done .

On Tuesday she is getting her left shoulder replaced , after 3 injections and countless trips to P.T . , still in a lot of pain the doc thought it was time for a replacement . she had the rotater cuff repaired in 2017 and was in a sling for 8 weeks and then Rehab , so this summer will be a bummer for her again like it was in 17 . I will be the GO FOR her all summer if she will let me , But I might not do it up to her standards and need to redo it over and over ..... I look for some fireworks to go off this summer hahahaha .
With the inflation of the all mighty green back bucks , I am worried about my future income < I dont know if my investments will be paying the same to keep me in top shelf whisky , coffee and cigars , I know the price of Kona went up 25% , sure I only have it on Sundays as a treat but dammmm its getting to high , , with summer just around the bend I will be cutting back on the smokey scotches from Islay and moving over to the clear spirits like Gin , and Tiquilla , yes I know its spelled wrong , Im to lazy to go out to the bottle rack and check the spelling . looks like I will be using a lot of limes this summer hahahaha .
Its almost noon and I need to get my ass in gear , so I will ask again for some comments and feed back to turn this into a conversation not a monolog . Enjoy, Vince

Good afternoon it is Sunday 4/10/22 a cool sunny day here in da Burgh , the wife had her shoulder replaced on Tuesday and spend one night in the hospital , she came home wed. the 6th and has been a great deal more compliant to the docs orders than I thought she would , she is freeking me out she has been sleeping a lot during the day staying away from the pain meds , just taking them at night , how ever she is not sleeping well at night . she is complaining about being cold all the time and her hands are cold to the touch but no fever yet. I have found out I dont fold clothes they way she wants them done so I am relearning her system , the cooking is my strong point and loading the dish washer is an other thing I must relearn .
I made a big pot of vegetable beef soup and we have had it for supper the last few days , so the clean up is minimal , the weather has been going along with the menu and it is cold and wet outside so the soup hits the spot. I have a doc appointment on Monday afternoon for a shot in my eye , thats a lot of fun for sure , she will be home alone for a few hours , sleeping I hope . , I just came in the house from the Qtr. Deck and did have a nice trinadad toro listening to an old car talk rerun on NPR. , this one was from the early 90's and was just as good today as it was when it was new , they are funny guys with a good deal of automotive no how . , if you dont know anything about them just go to the NPR pod cast and look up car talk , its worth the time to find it .
I hear her moving around so i better het out there and get the soup on , slice the bread and feed her before she get Hangury .
Please say a prayer for both of us as i need all help I can get . Enjoy, Vince

Good Morning , it is Sunday 4/17/22 a cold but clear Easter Sunday here in da Burgh , last night it dropped into the lower 30's with a lot of wind , I went to bed so I could listen to the wind chime on the back deck .
Not much happing here , she is on the mend , had a bad night last night , she cant stay asleep and it is getting to the point where I dont know how to help , the pain meds dont keep her sleeping , but knock her out fast ... I guess she just needs time to get better .
I dont know when I might get out for a smoke today , we were supposed to go to her sisters today but I dont think we will , I might go and grab some Easter Supper and bring it home for her and myself .

thats about it from here , ....
I hope to have more content next time I post . Enjoy, Vince

Good morning , it is Sunday 4/24/22 a warm sunny day here in da Burgh , the weatherman tells us its going to be 85 today , it is all ready 76 and its before noon , I plan on spending the day outside with a cigar ..... join me if you can
The wife is on the road to recovery after getting a new Shoulder . we did get out for na cigar ride yeasterday , went 96 miles and didnt go anyplace , just hit the 2 lane blacktop roads between home and Butler Pa . some of the "roads " were in need of a new surface , crossed a few rail road tracks that seam to have been swallowed up by brush and no train use , crossed a one lane bridge over a small creek that had people fishing on the banks , a nice Norman Rockwell setting .
We still have a bit of the Easter Ham to finish I have the bone and some of the meat in the freezer and will be making soup this week , 85 today , but Tuesday the prediction is only 45 so a pot of soup will be great to warm the body and the soul , it was so warm yesterday we had to turn on the AC , last night at 11:35 pm it was 79 in the house , to warm for me . , I love the seasons here in Pittsburgh , some times we get all 4 seasons in the same day hahaha , snow in the morning AC at night .
I will be cooking on the grill later today , baked potatoes with bacon and onions , and some Ham slices I have thawing . this Ham was a great one , I got the smallest one I could find , just a little over 9 pounds , it was tiny next to the 20 pounders , but it had exceptional flavor , not at all salty like so many hams are , we have had it for breakfast , lunch and supper all week and there is just enough left for today and a pot of soup on Tuesday .
Breakfast today was an onion Bagel with salmon cream cheese for me and a cranberry bagel with butter for her , the Coffee was a pot of African Sunrise , a blend of a few different African beans , some light roast some dark roast , I have a pot of Cold brew Kona waiting for the Don Carlos #3 and getting my lazy behind dressed and ready for the day .Maybe a trip to the Coffee Break later this afternoon .
Enjoy, Vince

Good morning it is Sunday MAY 1 2022 a wet stormy day here in da Burgh , lots of Thunder and high winds , not a good day for the PGH Marathon , but rain or shine it is going on . , I am about 20 miles or so from the point in Pittsburgh , the point is where the Ohio river starts , a merger of the Alleghney and Mongalhala rivers ( both are spelled wrong and Im to lazy to go check the correct spelling ) and we are in the heart of the New oil and natural gas Boom , deep wells are being drilled and then a Fracking prosses ( fracturing of the shale rock deep in the earth ) and that will release the gas trapped in the rock , well that creates a lot of truck traffic coming and going to the well heads , , water and cement trucks all day and night , not to mention the trucks hauling the oil away and all the pipeline construction to move the gas from the wells to the cracking plant in Monaca Pa about 10 miles away from here , having to cross the river and going up and down the hills we have here, granted its not the Rockys or the Alps but there are some deep and rocky 1000 foot rock faces to overcome , the river valley is steep on both sides of the river , along with all the small creeks that feed the river with all the bridges , the roads are getting beat up by the weather and the heavy truck traffic , it makes getting from point a to point b a real pain in the A$$ .

the wife is on the mend the new shoulder is coming along , , she starts PT on Monday , OH JOY , I cant wait hahahahaha
I will be making a meat loaf today , going south west for the flavor profile , a good amount of roasted Hatch chilies will be in it , with some herbs and spices and some chopped veggies , some oats and something with a tomato base , not sure what I will be using till I look in the pantry , maybe rice instead of the oats ,still not sure ... and since the oven will be on I will bake some Yukon gold spuds with onions and garlic . we have been going with a light Sunday Breakfast , today it was a bagel / cream cheese and coffee , I remember when Sunday was a BIG breakfast day , Blintz with cream cheese and fruit , or eggs and bacon , French toast , but the clean up took to long and got in the way of making supper , so now I just chill out check my e mail post some BS here and take care of the wife , getting her dressed not as much fun as getting her UNdressed hahahaha . Hey after 52 years been there done that but she still gets to me ,,,, not as often hahahaha
We did go for a "cigar and coffee ride " yesterday , about 100 miles and a Maduro Diamond Crown torpedo lasted the entire trip I might be able to finish the butt in a pipe later , maybe, maybe not ..
Last night I didnt put the Kona in the press pot , so I will be brewing a pot of Columbian to enjoy with what ever cigar I dig out of the humidor , I have no idea what the breakfast coffee was since the wife made it and didnt tell m , I think it might have been something from Africia , but I might be wrong , ,,,, what ever it was , it was great with the bagel . For some reason I think that the medium dark roast Columbian we drink is one of my favorites , the Kona is wonderful BUT COST TO DAMMMM MUCH .
Gasoline prices are inching back up to the 4.39 area again , after falling to 3.99 area, , I have seen photos of prices from around the country over 5.00 , when I started to drive gas was 25 cents a gallon hahahahahaha yep IM Old. .

I think its about time for me to put on some pants and get my day going , Enjoy Vince

Good afternoon , it is Sunday 5/8/22 Mothers day , so happy mothers day to all you mothers out there
when I started posting here it was a cigar page , but I keep seeing stuff about wigs , hair color , fashion , I wonder Why?

Some updates were made this week and that won't be happening again... more updates coming.

Good morning , it is Sunday 6/5/22 a cool cloudy day here in Da Burgh , it is a few weeks since my last Sunday morning post , so here goes hahah...
My wife had her shoulder replace in April and is on the mend she is able to do most of her house work , freeing me up to sit on my rather large ass and smoke a cigar listening to the radio , sipping coffee and watching the traffic go by, and we have a TON of traffic now , we are part of the detour that has a major intersection under construction , from a 4 way stop to a traffic circle , with 2 bridges to allow the creek to pass under the road way 27 million bucks of taxpayer cash to build , aquire the land and greeze the pockets of a few , just to get rid of a 4 way stop , , how about just install a traffic light , for a few grand even if it cost 100 grand to hang the light and set the wires , still cheaper than 27 Million but then the graft would cant pay off the right people . .
Last night we attended the graduation party of my nephews oldest son , a 195 pound hole roasted Hog was the featured meal a WONDERFULL sight, the skin was snapping & i got the clean the head of all the GREAT meat . Cookies and fruit with a side of slaw and Tatters .....finished off the meal with an Ashton Churchill that has been in the humidor since 2000. , it was the last one in the box still a tasty smoke with a big mug of coffee, No booze at the party , the kids are just that Kids , this was you dont worry about any of them leaving under the influnce unless the bring there own. ,
Breakfast today was a bagel and salmon cream cheese a pot Kona that I split with my wife , I have a pot of Columbian waiting for me as well as a Diamond crown Robusto , Im thinking a mild smoke before the Pork roast I have on the grill all ready , I didnt know the Hog was the menu item last night But I had the pork shoulder all ready defrosted and rubbed in the fridge before we left for the party , I have some yams to toss on the grill and I will be making a crustless peach pie also .
Last week my car got hit in a parking lot , no note , just 2300 bucks in damage , some one in a white jacked up pick up truck left his paint on my passenger side mirror and both doors , so my the insurance will cover all but 500 ,,,, dammmm thats a lot of cigars goring to body work . DAMMMM
I have a busy week coming up from taking her to PT 3 times , my doc appointment , oil change , and finding some time for a cigar here and there, I better get started on that one. Enjoy Vince

Good Morning , it is Sunday 6/12/22 a cool damp morning here in da Burgh , little rain before I got up this morning with 100% cloud cover now . Breakfast was an Onion Bagel / cream cheese and lox , the Coffee was a pot of Kenya Estate grown , at lest that what it said on the package .... left a lot to be desired in the taste profile . No Kona till the price drops , I dont care how good it is Im not paying 45 bucks a pound for ANY coffee , the Jamican Blue Mountain was ever More @ 54 bucks a pound ..... , well the gas is @ 5.09 , I sure would love to see a few mean tweets and gas at 1.99 or 2.99 .

We went to a birthday party for one of my younger cigar buddys , he just hit 70 , still a kid hahahaha , his wife made a German Chocolate cake , not out of a box , FANTASTIC . I didnt get mine for my Birthday last month , the wife still is having a little trouble with her shoulder that was replaced in April , but I did get a nice Apricot fruit cake Via the Collen St. Bakery . I dont care what people think about fruit cakes I love them , the more fruit the better a splash of rum , bourbon and brandy , let it sit for a few days , hit it again , and again , after a few months , you get to eat it and get a BUZZ .

The Hunk O Chuck went into the oven about a half an hour ago , should be ready about 4PM , the wife loves it so I make it , Happy wife , happy life . I would be happy with a burgher on the grill today , it is a great day to cook outside , the high today is 78 F and I soon will be on the back deck with my Sunday morning Smoke , I think I might go for a OLDIE , out of the long term storage humidor , I saw a R & J that has been in there since 2001 ... I think its time has come to be turned into ASH .

The wife is grinding coffee and the aroma is great , Baking Bread, cooking bacon & onions and Grinding coffee are AROMAS that dreams are made for . It has been a long time since I made bread , and untill it cools off I will NOT be baking anything , dammm I will be making a Black berry pie next week , so I just might get a package of Yeast and bake some bread at the same time , Thank GOD for A/C , the oven is all ready heating up the house .
I think its about time for that R & J , a cup of Columbian , a snifter of Red breast Irish 12 YO and listen to a re run of Car talk on the Google speaker on the back deck
Enjoy, Vince

Good morning , it is Sunday 6/19/2022 a cool crisp morning here in Da Burgh , just 63F at 10:30 am with a high of 73 today , , it should be 80 F , so we are in for a cool day , I will be enjoying a cigar or 2 with coffee soon , I need to put on some pants and a shirt since I am still in my robe and slippers . Breakfast was a Bagel with cream cheese , and a dish of cottage cheese with strawberry's. I just didnt feel like cooking this morning , or today at all , we are having left overs from the Greek Food fest picked up at the Greek Orthodox Church in Aliquippa , Grape leaves, Pastiticio, Musoca , Spanacopia, , yes I know they are spelled wrong , but if you have been reading my BS over the years you know thats just a normal thing , and a differnt thing would be for me to check on how to spell them hahahaha , I dont see that happening .
I had a blood test this past week at the VA and the tests all came back great , the Doc said Im in great shape for a old man , the HDL is 64 and the LDL is 62 , the triglyeride is 51 and the Glucose is 116 , a 25 year old would love the numbers , the doc told me to keep up what ever Im doing , so I will be smoking cigars, sipping scotch and drinking 2 pots of coffee a day , NOT BAD for an old man .
Today is Fathers day and Junteenth , I will be celebrating both with a cigar and scotch , I recieved a big bag of whole bean coffee and cigars from my daughter , that will be turned into ashes some time today .
I plan on moving a kitchen table and chairs from my sister in laws to my grandsons place later today , one mans junk is an other mans treasure . , just toss a blanket on the roof rack flip the table on it tie it down toss the chairs in the back and its off to races .

My Sunday morning cigar is calling me the pot of Indian Monsoon is ready , now what to smoke .... something light seam to me might go well with the monsoon , Maybe a Diamond Crown , or Ashton Magnum , who knows I might end up with a Camacho .
Enjoy, Vince
