I don't have a problem letting a cigar I can't finish go out. I just light that baby up later. I knock the ash off, toast the end, and light it up. I find this method works well, without much of a taste difference.
I wouldn't try this on a cigar thats been out more than 24 hours. It doesn't work as well.

One of the only good things about having severe chronic headaches is that I always have plenty of time to smoke any length cigar (assuming I don't fall asleep in the middle of it). Let me tell you, dropping a lit cigar onto your stomach is a crappy wake up call.
Being that I smoke most of my cigars naked in front of the computer or relaxing on the couch in front of the TV, I know what you mean.
