Sam Adams Octoberfest is the one most pleasing to my tastebuds, but only available Oct and Nov, and I will run out before Feb. (sooner if people drop by to drink it all up.....
Warthog is no longer available around here, but really wonderful stuff (same for Buzzard's Breath, also by Big Rock Brewery)
Kilkenny Ale has the most incredible head in the world, and there is something to be said for great head.... you can sit and watch it a stein of foam rain down into a full mug.... made by Guiness but near impossible to find around here, but I could find it in Beijing and Shanghai, but it was in the foreigner bars and pretty steep ...
Boddingtons is similar, available, and comes in a can ....
Bass Ale was great when Costco had it and I could afford it ...
Newcastle Brown Ale when I feel like a really "light" ale that even someone who drinks US beer will like....
And when I've been broke and had to drink domestic, (other than Sam Adams, which I never refer to as domestic) ... its Henry Weinhart, usually their ale, which is also pretty light ...
And you gotta keep a Guiness around, for when you need a Guiness, or when you need to make a Black-and-Tan ..... or to get a head that is second only to Kilkenney ....
