Beads...

Wow, that sounds almost too easy. I don't have a boveda pack but I have several drymistat tubes and some water pillows. I am pretty sure the drymistat tubes are 70%, I don't think they come in different flavors.
So if I just take a drymistat and the kitty litter crystals and seal them in a big jar for a couple of weeks the kitty litter will hold a 70% rh? That's pretty cool.
You don't have to wet the kitty litter at all? I see a couple of posts where people say they spray the litter (with water I hope!) every once in a while. Do you just watch for the rh to drop and then give them a squirt or would you recommend recharging them the same way? I guess one way to do it would be to just charge a new batch.

Rolf, It is ALMOST that easy, I have found that by adding teaspoon of water till the the RH is what I need it to be, I personal preference is 65%. Then Like Phish said you can use a training pack or you can just monitor them to make sure the maintain the proper RH.

You will know when you need to add water as the will turn from clear when full to white when dry. Your RH will also drop as they dry.

Ever since I started using the cat litter, all my humis stay at a very comfortable 65-69%. Every once in a while, I will remoisten the beads, but it sure isn't very often.
