The way it works is, on your birthday you send me 5 of your rarest and best aged cigars. I smoke them, and then tell you what a great guy you are.

The birthday cigars thing is simple really. Its a club of some of the members here where on each others birthdays, we bomb the person with packages. Not really secret handshake sort of thing, but it is like the box passes where you need to have a good reputation and be on the forum for a while.
So if you would like to be included, actively participate in the forum, and hop in the trades, fun and games, and pay it forward threads for a while. If everyone likes you after that, you might get a decoder ring.
